The front office places little value in draft picks. They give way too high picks for average players. A 3rd for Burnell, a throw-in 2nd rounder for Portis, 1st for Coles, the Duckett panic trade, and more.

So guys, the question becomes now, with our practically guaranteed top ten pick, who do we get? What need will become more pressing then ever?

not on this defense. a top 10 CB should be a number 1, but right now he's a #2 at best. he is a good tackler and decent in zone, has size, but he gives too much cushion and isn't all that fast for a CB, drops ints, and struggles in man, which is disappointing :/.

a top 10 pick should be able to come in and make plays . almost a sure fire pick. rogers was better last year at #2 corner. not sure if he can make it as a number one. so far it doesnt look like it

I like the idea of trading our 1st rounder to move down in the 1st and get another pick later in the draft. Then, use our 1st to get a good DB ... anyone know who will be available?

too early, and strategy depends totally on players available. just cause we need a db doesn't mean one will be there for us. the only best rookie WRs this year, for example are reggie bush and m colston (undrafted).

a top 10 pick wasn't good enough, so the chances of a lower 1st being good much better immediately?

a top 5 pick is generally a game breaker, so you've got to think carefully about trading out of it.

This was exactly what I was telling you guys after the this year and last years draft of giving away picks like candy to try to fix the problems right now Campbell cost you guys this year first (a third and a fourth) and he was a early second rounder in every draft board and you allready had a high second rounder, McIntosh cost you a second and a six and with the knee history nobody expected hi mto go high.

Anyway with the looks of how this season is going your are looking at a high draft spot again in wich you could had grabed 3 future startes for the next 10 years and now you only have 1 pick.

this thing of using draft pick like you're playing madden and you can make a C. Rogers play like a Deion Sanders or Brunnell like Peyton Manning it doesn't work in real life.

yeah, it's definitely too early.

However, my opinion is still that we should trade down for more picks. You are right, TG, whether we get a DB or not is a matter of availability. I would just like to fix DB with a draft pick, and fix QB with JC (not Quinn).

quinn looks like eli. doesn't show up till the 4th quarter :/ it's important to see JC now before the skins have to bet the house on him. of course, they could always trade their #1 for matt schaub :P

Well seeing as how our team ussually shows up until the 4th quarter, we might be in business lol.

Again, we need to see JC now. I'm not going to blame the season on Brunell, he hasent played well at all, but we have many problems deeper than him. But if Campbell dosent turn out to be the real deal , why do we have to sit through 7 crappy weeks next year, instead of using this season to find out since were out of it.

Unless a miracle happens

History says....Skins will trade the 1st rd pick for other picks and/or a player.

Re: Just to set the record straight (Denver Draft Pick in 07')

One player I hope we get as a free agent is Nate Clements, star cornerback with Buffalo. He knows GW and the defense and he is young. We could really use his help. Carlos Rogers might have to go to a nickel role, but he would be on the field a lot and would still be getting experience. Eventually he could become a Pro Bowl player with the talent he has. But our defense requires top flight cornerback play, and we have have those positions very solid.
