Re: SI's Top 10 QB's Under age 25
terrible list by SI. aaron rogers? whys he on there? what has he done? same with cutler. to be honest why would u even make this list? there arent that many young qbs out there, thus why they put guys who havent done anything in the nfl

Re: SI's Top 10 QB's Under age 25
I agree, Rodgers on the lst makes no sense at all. But the list makes sense IMO, because there are a lot of young QB's in the league and most of them are doing well.

Re: SI's Top 10 QB's Under age 25
there obviously arent 10 qbs under 25 who actually play since they have guys who havent played at all or have hardly played, therefore a top 5 would be a lot more insightful than a top 10

That's true, a top five would make more sense.

Re: SI's Top 10 QB's Under age 25
After today's game, Roetheshmothel shouldn't be in the top 50 Qb's under 25.

By the way, my top ten was strictly based on potential.

Hey, how old is Campbell? I'dtake him over some of those guys too.

Re: SI's Top 10 QB's Under age 25
I wouldn't even put Roethlisberger at #1. He had an incredible 15-1 year in 2004 and a SB win in 2005, but without a solid running game this year, he's proving that he's not the glue that holds the team together. He looks HORRIBLE when he has to be "the man".
Alex Smith is better this year, but it's probably not possible to be as bad as last year. Eli Manning is probably the top young QB despite his occasional lapses in mental awareness. He makes some dumb mistakes but makes a lot more great plays to make up for them. Gradkowski is really bad. He has great WRs in Galloway and Clayton and can't get the job done. He has potential because he has good instincts as shown at the end of the Philly game, but execution is his problem. Aaron Rodgers doesn't belong on the list yet. I'd have more faith in Campbell than Rodgers...or Cutler. Strictly as a QB, Vince Young is bad. As an athlete and leader, he's great. He could have a good career despite his underdeveloped passing skills because he can always keep defenses guessing and he can make plays without having to throw. This is proven by his 100-yard passing games that still allow his team to be in position to win against some good teams like Indy and the Skins. Leinart would be great with an o-line. He has the skills and the head...but not the time and protection to put them on display. Phillip Rivers is a huge surprise to me. I didn't think he's be anywhere near Drew Brees as a replacement to him...but he's proving me wrong. He's the real deal. Let's hope that we'll see similar results when Jason Campbell plays since we're developing him in a similar manner. Schaub needs a new team. He looked pretty good when given the chance, but he will be a career backup in Atlanta. He'd make every team a good backup right now, but whether he can suceed in 16 games is unknown. MY TOP 10: 1 - Rivers 2 - Leinart 3 - Manning 4 - Grossman (ok, he's 26 but STILL a young QB) 5 - J. P. Losman 6 - V. Young 7 - Roethlisberger 8 - Chris Simms (ok, he's 26 too...) 9 - Charlie Frye (even on a horrible Cleveland team with no offensive line, mediocre WRs and a banged-up RB, he's shown flashes of great play) 10 - J. Campbell...only ranked #10 because of no snaps, but he belongs on the list. A list of 25-and-younger is a strange concept. A young QB that's a few months over 25 isn't considered a good young QB? |

Re: SI's Top 10 QB's Under age 25
how is eli not #2?, he's running one of the best offenses in the league, and throws the ball a whole lot more than rivers. He also has let multiple 4th quarter combacks as a 2nd and 3rd year QB. The guy is clutch.

Rivers - 1536 yds, 97.6 QB rating, 10 TDs, 3 INTs, 3 fumbles/1 lost, 44 rushing yards Manning has more yards and TDs, but also more INTs and fumbles than a guy playing his first season. Rivers seems to be a better decision-maker and more efficient to me. He can run too. Manning IS good...he just needs to clean up his game a little and cut down on mistakes. |

Re: SI's Top 10 QB's Under age 25
Marino threw more interceptions that trent green, didnt make trent green better. Eli throws downfield much more. People fear eli, they don't fear rivers. Tiki has no TD's this year, it's all ELI. How many TD's does tomlinson have. Plus gates is the easiest target in the NFL, especially on short throws. Brunell's rating is always high, however I see him as one of the 5 worst QB's in the league, David Carr also sucks.
