Re: We almost gave the game away

If I remember correct the WR stopped and was trying to make a move toward the ball and if anything it was incidental contact because of the poor throw.

I agree that all that mattters at the end of the day is the final score, but hooskins has a point. Four fumbles in 17 minutes is absolutely crazy.

Really good point that I completely looked over. Those fumbles could have killed us as well.

Look I am not trying bring downs peoples spirits, I still think we deserved the win, I just dont want this team to let me down again. If they could play well next week too, that would be great. Eliminating some of these mistakes will greatly increase our chance of winning.

I personally didn't take the thread as an attempt to bring down people's spirits. My spirits are sky high and I'm sure that yours are too. The team played great, but, as you noted, there were several key problems that need to be addressed (e.g., penalties, botched punt protection, and fumbles). I don't see any problem with being happy and pointing out both the positive and the negative.

Yeah, I wasnt really targeting my comments to you, I should have specified, my apologies. I was kinda saying that to all of those people who think I am trying to ruin people's spirits.

Ok, I guess that is what I was wondering. If it was incidental after he stopped, then that shouldnt be a PI. Thanks.

We did get really lucky to recover all of our fumbles. But we deserved to win the game in spite of that simply because a lack of luck has cost us a few others.

If this is fate evening it out, I'll gladly take it. I'll take a few more while we are at it. Lady luck has a long way to go to make up for that Buckhalter touchdown, and the Becht one the week after.

I agree with the lack of luck deal, but we also dominated the Panthers(even in the first half) in the critical aspects of the game. I think we deserved this on our gameplay as well.

So who are you refering to here? You quoted me in this reply, but I hope you weren't talking about me. Sure, there is a time to be critical over problems but it was still Sunday and when you win on Sunday you should be happy and celebrate regardless of the record. Monday will come and a new week will follow when you work on what is wrong but if you can't celebrate a win on Sunday why win?

You were most definately one of the people I was talking to. Is it some kind of rule that this forum has, that no one can be critical after a win until Monday? Bullshit, I can be critical whenever I want, and that doesn't mean I wasn't happy. I don't understand why you can't be very happy for your team, but be critical as well because you love the Skins so much you want them to fix their mistakes so they can win next week.

Like I said, if this thread really upsets you that much, then simply don't read it it. It really is not that hard. Many fans want their team to strive for perfection, and therefore they do not mind such posts. I don't see how we should be anything less than perfect with our huge FA signings, and our insane coach payrolls. And putting the money aside, the Redskins are a winning organization under Gibbs, and they should stay one. Anything less than playoffs is an insult to Gibbs and the Skins.
