Re: Finally a piss free thread (hopefully)
Someone said earlier that Friend said that the skins are gonna cut springs and sign clements, and from everything manely said and what was written in the article (so many clues, I mentioned some of them earlier), it all points to springs being deep throat.

You all are completely retarted, not a single one of you understand that I never said that trading Springs would be a good move to make. I said that deep throat said that he wants out next year, and there is a good possibility that Springs is deepthroat. It is not an issue of whether to trade him or not, because that is up to Springs if he is deepthroat and if he asks to leave we can either release him or trade him. |

A) He's getting old and coming off of an injury.
B) He's getting old and most teams don't have a need for aging CB's. C) He's getting old... There's a pattern hidden somewhere here. Once I find it I'll have an answer for you why trading Springs is probably not an option.

Re: Finally a piss free thread (hopefully)
Did anyone see the interview with Shawn Springs last night on Comcast? He mentioned he had heard speculation swirled around him as being the source of Tom Friend's ESPN article, and this was his reply, and I [QUOTE] "I practice two days a week, and play on Sunday, plus they pay me well, why would I do or say anything to upset that"[UNQUOTE]
Speaking of trading Springs, I don't think it's likely we could expect to get much for a 31 yr. old CB with a history of various injuries. However I do recall Springs mentioning on one ocasion that he would welcome the change to safety in an effort to prolong his career. With our current secondary situation, moving Springs to the safety position along side Taylor could be a formidable duo, if we could find an adaquate replacement for him at the corner.

Re: Finally a piss free thread (hopefully)
So how does Dexter Manley know so much about who said what on the Redskins?
Springs said it wasn't him, I believe him. Rogers said it wasn't him, I beleive him too. Sean Taylor doesn't even talk to the media, at all, so it couldn't be him. |

The article said an unidentifyed Redskins player. Did it even say current player? Honestly I would think its LaVar or Antonio if anyone. Again, obviously I want to be with my boys on this one and hope no one said it, but I dont understand how Manley knows. Would Friend even tell anyone? Isnt that breaking codes of journalism? I dont know

Re: Finally a piss free thread (hopefully)
Dexter Manley said he talked to the source about it personally, and it has to be one of those 3 or vincient. And ninety nine percent of the people who read that will agree that it was a person in the secondary

Did he say that before he smoked the crack or after. If after I'd give it more weight!

Gmanc, it's funny you say was it a current player. Just yesterday I was telling Redskins_P I'll bet it's Earnest Byner. He's a notable Redskin player, just not a current notable Redskin player. And no, I don't honestly think it's him More importantly, how is it that we have 3 different threads now running on the same topic. But even more importantly, who will ridexile "trade" tomorrow? My bet is Santana Moss

Re: Finally a piss free thread (hopefully)
I was thinking that we could trade him for another old guy who is good who plays whatever position we use our number one draft pick on (if we use it), that way we can phase our rookie in if he is not ready

Re: Finally a piss free thread (hopefully)
A contract ending in 09' is not soon. Honestly, I dont know if I belive Manley on the source to be quite truthful. SOmthing about this whole situation is really really fishy.

It's funny, one of the only people not to actually weigh in on the matter is AA.
