It is very refreshing to hear a critical viewpoint. Obviously we know he isn't 100 percent correct, but it is best to hear pessimistic and optimistic viewpoints and make your own mind from there. Having anything less is nothing less than censorship.

The whole Ryan Clark thing is an embarrassment. Sadly enough, this has been happening for quite a few years now! Why do you think this will all of the sudden change next year??? Things are only going to get worst! Contrary to popular belief, THERE IS A SALARY CAP! Pointing out the good things with this team is like telling a 5 year old kid he is great just for finishing the race, don't mind he finished 10th of 10! Great job kid! |

Re: Sports Talk 980 and the Redskins
I can respect a critical view as long as that person also dishes out praise when appropriate. If it's all just critical it gets boring and predictable, same for if it's just all praise.

Only reason I like B.Mitch is because he has some credibility as a former player, and most people are not as critical as him. I get sick of hearing Gibbs talk about how they "fought their guts out" when they got manhandled. At the same time, after the win all I heard from most media sources is how great the Skins were. It was nice to see some people take a more critical approach before we crowned the Skins. such as pointing out those turnovers, penalties, etc.

Re: Sports Talk 980 and the Redskins
There is a major difference between accurate "no holds barred" reporting, and sensationalism of the Jerry Springer variety. If we get no love after the Carolina win, it's not hard to figure out which side of the fence they are on.

Re: Sports Talk 980 and the Redskins
It would help me to like him if he knew the difference between the words "indulge" and "divulge". When he was talking about the ESPN article after the game he said "You know (insert espn sport writer name here) won't indulge the player he interviewed". Come on. If you are going to be a sportscaster, at least use the appropriate words.

Re: Sports Talk 980 and the Redskins
I don't pickup 980 in Richmond, but do hear Czaban on 950 and BM on Comcast.
Alot of the critizism is well deserved IMO. When they win the right way they do praise them (like last year). But let's face it this organization has made alot of mistakes and does things differently than the 30 other teams around the nfl. So, when things go wrong they are going to take heat. Don't get me wrong, we played well Sunday, but we could have easily lost that game. We recovered 4 fumbles in the 1st half & got redeemed by a BAD call on Peppers. Hey we get bad calls all the time so we'll take it. I'm all for calling it like it is and not sugar coating anything and i think that's what these guys do. Remember that they are all skins fans who want to see something good. |

Re: Sports Talk 980 and the Redskins
Mitchell has talked on the air how he was pissed when the Skins let him go. I guess he felt he shoulda been one of those guys like Darrell Green who stayed with them for his entire career. He needs to get over it. I think it does sorta make him rip on them more because he sorta chews on that resentment he felt when the skins delt him to philly.
