Re: B. Lloyd Makes Interesting Comments

We are a long long way from "B. Lloyd, I'm starting to like this guy" huh? I still can't quite fathom the way things have turned out for this team.

I don't want that on my team. Don't underestimate the importance of chemistry in the NFL. It's crucial, and if a player is threatening that, than he doesn't belong on the team. We may need to seriously evaluate whether or not it's in our best interest to keep him on the squad for next year.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not giving up on Lloyd yet, but he needs a change in attitude ASAP. I'm hoping someone like Moss or Portis will sit down with him and try to talk man to man with him, mabye give him some much needed perspective. I know it was just yesterday I was defending him, but these latest comments have irked me.

Players, especially mediocre ones, need to keep their mouths shut, and emotions under control. I'm not the least bit sympathetic for someone making more money than I'll probably ever see to play a game.

Hey Brandon : Less talkie, more catchie.

Re: B. Lloyd Makes Interesting Comments

Seems to me that this is being blown way out of proportion. Yeah, he got a penalty that cost us the team, but I don't care. I'd rather see this type of emotion after a game has been lost than the regular "yeah, that's just the way it goes" crap that just about every other player on the team conveys.

I don't think he is that selfish. I believe that he wants to win more than anything, and I respect that. Remember the Portis TD earlier in the season where he made a good block the secure the edge for Portis and then went crazy because they scored?

If throwing a helmet is a sin, then go crucify Cooley, too. He broke one earlier in the season that the equipment staff had repair during a game. The only difference is that he was outside of the white lines when it happened.

The bottom line for me is that I like seeing some fire from any player that wants to explode during a year such as this. To me, it shows desire.

I'm just going to keep my mouth shut. My mind is made up about Lloyd, I just hope I'm proven wrong.

Growing up being told your amazing at everything does something to your ego. When people tell you how awesome you are, it goes strait to your head. You start blabbing stuff out like a 5 year old... but don't take my word for it:

"I've had this personality since I was about 5 years old. And if I ever thought it was a problem, I would have changed it. I'm okay with this kind of attention. So if I thought it was a problem, I would have changed it 20 years ago."

Without a doubt he's immature.

I can't believe some people are buying this as him caring about winning.

He's no different than a 2 year old throwing a temper tantrum.

While I don't think this situation is a huge deal, but it's definitely something worth keeping an eye on down the road. Something to stick in your back pocket if you will.

Re: B. Lloyd Makes Interesting Comments

And another thing, when Gibbs sat down with him I'm sure the first thing he said to him wasn't, "Brandon, I'm really concerned about your passion for winning".

Re: B. Lloyd Makes Interesting Comments

I really don't give a shit what the first thing Gibbs said to him was. I think it's funny that the reporter threw the W-L record out there of Brandon Lloyd's teams...as though WRs win football games. He should be frustrated, Moss should be frustrated, ARE, Campbell, Betts, the o line, the defense, and the whole fucking organization should be frustrated. They spent all that money just to suck again! Who disagrees with the guys who said they'd finish last in the division now? I don't know what the hell is wrong with the this team/organization. I don't pretend to, but the problem wasn't Lloyd tossing his helmet after they had lost the ball and the game was over, short of a kneel down. It's a little bit bigger than that. It's not Brandon Lloyd's fault they're losing games and he's not a cancer. He goes out and plays hard. He threw a great block for Cooley last week on the td and got downfield to make a block this week. The guy plays with heart and he gets pissed when they lose...GOOD! They all should be pissed when they lose. They shouldn't have this bs, "The ball didn't bounce our way, but they fought their guts out." Hey...NEWS FLASH...losing is NOT okay. Something needs to change...and it needs to change soon!

Re: B. Lloyd Makes Interesting Comments

The only reason I'm not worried is that Gibbs won't tolerate it if it becomes a problem. Unlike in San Fran, Lloyd won't get the opportunity to "play for himself" - Gibbs will bench him.

It's probably the kind of venting that the whole team feels, but nobody is saying. If he can direct the fire to the field, then so what. However, that remains to be seen. He's played decently, but hasn't been asked (or given the chance) to carry too heavy a load yet.

For context, you might want to say "The first thing Gibbs said to Lloyd..."

Re: B. Lloyd Makes Interesting Comments

One decent thing about this is that Gibbs is proactive about trying to retain Lloyd. He's not turning his back on him nor labeling him as a malcontent. Sometimes guys need a reality check, Gibbs sat him down and gave him one ( I guess). We'll know soon enough if this meeting was beneficial for the Redskins or a waste of time and reseources.

PS: TAFKAS, that figures you'd swap your no-name sig sponsor for a marquee name like Mattyk72. Sell-out!

That's a good point. If Gibbs told him never to do that again and then he goes out and does it anyway. Then I'll be upset, but being frustrated about losing a football game doesn't make me think he's not worth having on the team/make him a bad teammate.

Re: B. Lloyd Makes Interesting Comments

Loyd doesn't seem like much of a football player to me. He's a guy know to make the spectacular catch but drop the routine one. Sound familiar? Like a #87 1st rnd. pick out of Clemson? actually, he hasn't had enough of a career to even compete w/50-50 yet.
For all of his flash, S Moss is still a football player. He takes the hits & gets up, tries to get extra yards & has never shown signs of giving up.
Loyd has yet to exhibit any of those qualities. Maybe he & AA will serve as examples for next year; if you don't perform you'll get benched.

Re: B. Lloyd Makes Interesting Comments

People are hyping B. Lloyd's comments too hard. He basically said he is frustrated that he and the team aren't performing. He wanted to make the playoffs and it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Plus he likes to have fun on the field and that's what football is suppose to be.... fun!
