Did you not watch football? Did you not have a team? Did you root for Indy? In many cases you had people loving themselves some Skins while we were winning superbowls, then jumping ship just in time for the 2000 season. You can like whoever you want to like, but you will never understand what it feels like to root for one team your whole life - the same team your father, uncles, and grandfather rooted for. So enjoy your little superbowl, and if you win this year enjoy that too. But Ravens fans as fans can't look me in the eye, and unless they were born after 1996, never will be able to.
I hate the Ravens with every fiber of my being, primarily because they are the product of Art modell's screw-job to the city of Cleveland and because I can't stand Brian Billick.

Nevertheless, I can't entirely buy the the idea that the Ravens' base is made up mostly of ex-Redskins fans. I'm almost 40, and most of the Ravens fans I know had some tie to the area and were Colts fans when they were kids. They may have thrown some tepid support behind the Skins when the Colts left, but they always wanted a team of their own again.

That's how I see it too. Most of my friends just idn't have a local team to root for when we were kids. They usually say they liked some random team that was good at the time (ie, the 49ers, Raiders, Chicago, etc.) and that they jumped on the purple bandwagon when it came to town.

Seattle will beat Dallas as long as their D keeps playing like crap. I would just shove Alexander down their throats all day.

If both Giants/Eagles and Dallas get knocked out this round, I'm good. Out of the three, if I had to pick, I'll pick the Giants to advance.

Gabe good call. IMO the Raven's SB win belongs to the city of Cleveland.

Re: What happens if the Ravens win the Superbowl?

I'd like to see the Saints or Chargers win the whole thing. As long as the Ravens, Cowboys, Eagles, or Giants don't win it, I'll be ok. Actually, it would be kinda bittersweet if the Eagles won it without McNabb. I can't stand McNabb because he always manages to tear us a new one and then do freakin Micheal Jackson dance moves in the endzone, and I hated that interview he did on ESPN when said TO's actions towards him were a "black on black crime," you gotta be kidding me, I couldnt believe he started talking about race, opening up a whole new can of worms. And then on the radio last week I heard that his mother was mouthing off, saying how difficult it was for their family to watch the Eagles win without Donovan, ha, if they won without McNabb, I would be pissed cause I couldnt remind Eagles fans anymore that they haven't won a Superbowl, but I would take some joy in seeing McNabb suffer because they won it without him.

Those poor Cleveland fans. If anything, I have to put them at top five in the NFL for fan loyalty.

I HATE Ravens fans. the funny thing last year when the Skins were in the playoffs and they were at home, everyone in Bel -Air had all their old Redskins shit out. People were coming up to me i nthe gym and were like "go skins!" since they saw me wearing my hat all year.

I don't know how I can explain how much I dislike that team. It's like when they came around I was semi-excited, I thought to myself, I'll be a Skins fan to the death, no matter what, but I'll pull for Baltimore's team too cause I like Baltimore. It seemed like no one really liked the Ravens for a while, until they made their playoff run and won the Superbowl. And since then all Ravens fans, or atleast the one's I'm friends with never shut the hell up about the stupid Ravens and how bad the Skins are and it drives me freakin nuts!!!!!! I mean in my opinion most Ravens fans are traitors because they had to like another team before they liked Baltimore, and then they changed allegiances. At my friend's party on New Year's Eve I met this guy wearing a Ray Lewis jersey who said he converted to the Ravens after being born and raised a Skins fan, I wanted to throw up, and it wasn't because I drank too much. There's this other guy I grew up with who didn't even like football in highschool, and now he's this huge Ravens fan, just cause they're doing good this year and he talks shit all the time, drives me insane. I dunno if it's just me, but their fans, atleast the ones I know, are just flat out obnoxious and it's caused me to hate a team from my home state! If they win the Superbowl this year, I just don't know if I'll be able to take the bragging that's going to come. Oh yeah, I already posted this picture once, but it was at the end of a thread, so I dunno if anyone saw it, but this is what happen to me when our boys lost to the Ravens the last time they played them. Trynna Go??? I'm the one in the purple, I had to wear that outfit all day, and I had to go to class, it was a horrible day. Does anyone else share my opinion of the Ravens, or am I being an unreasonable, angry, angry Redskins fan?
If the Ravens win I'll be eating a lot of crow...

I've never heard the expression "eating a lot of crow," I have an idea of what it means, but does anyone want to explain?

Re: What happens if the Ravens win the Superbowl?

I'm a nats fan, a skins fan.........and an orioles fan. It's pretty much the only way you can do it if you live in washington. You cannot abandon the orioles just cause a new team came to town, so i support them.....and you SHOULD NOT abandon the skins if the ravens came to town. If you can stop being a fan of a team and start to hate them.....then you were never really a fan. So those ravens fans that were once skins supporters and now root against washington cannot be considered true fans of any team at all......at least not until one generation passes.

Re: What happens if the Ravens win the Superbowl?

I don't hate the Ravens. I DO hate the Orioles. You're too young to. When I was growing up we had the Senators. Lousy team, but our team. Then Bob Short (may he rot in peace) "changed" them into the Texas Rangers. Then we might have gotten back baseball in Washington. But the Angelos family (I hope they get stuck in jail with sex offenders and no supervision) who owns the Orioles had veto power to keep a baseball team from coming to Washington. They figured Senators fans could become Orioles fans. Go stuff it up your a** Angelos. (The same lawyer family that negotiated the class-action cigarette case in Maryland that resulted in between $500million and $1billion in legal fees!) We were only able to get baseball in Washington by bribing the Angelos family.

How do I want the NFC East teams to do in the playoffs?
1) The Cowboys: I hate them. I do NOT want them to do well.
2) The Giants: I don't like them, but if they do well they might keep Coughlin. That could be very good news for the Redskins. I also think the fans won't be too obnoxious about it. I think even they know they'll need a lot of luck to do well in the playoffs. I also think Tiki has earned it.
3) Philly: I don't like the fans, but if they won I don't think it would bother me. They've come close a lot of times and done amazingly well this year, all things considered. (i.e. with Garcia.)
