Re: Jerry "Snare Drum Face" Jones
This isn't a "drawing of comparison" thread. I am simply pointing out that it is absolutely brain dead to hire an offensive coordinator BEFORE a head coach. I'm not taking away his ...ooooh "3 rings". A lot of people think this Garrett hiring is just dumb. This is the main thrust of the thread. That and the fact that Keith Moon could play a drum solo on his face.
Dallas Sucks. |

Re: Jerry "Snare Drum Face" Jones
It seems like Jones has a huge influence on draft day. I don't know if this was always the case, but if he helped pick all those guys like Novacek, Harper, Washington, that sick line and of course the big 3 then he deserves credit. Once again I hate the Cowboys, but Jones gets the job done in my book. One thing to remember is that Jerry Jones was a football player. He won a national championship as a player and he obviously knows football a hell of a lot more than most owners including ours.

Re: Jerry "Snare Drum Face" Jones
Did you read the previous posts I've written? That's when I made my points. If you want to give credit to Jerry Jones then you're well entitled. He's got both good qualities and bad qualities just like everyone else. I just think his bad qualities have gotten out of control in recent years. Like everyone on this discussion, I hope the trend continues. Sorry if I offended you, but giving Jerry Jones any kind of credit makes me a little nauseous.

TAFKAS:
You're right. Dallas had all the luck having Harper, Washington and Turner all at the same time... Well played, sir.

Re: Jerry "Snare Drum Face" Jones
I cannot stand Jerry "The Ham" Jones. The guy seems to be so full of himself and is always vying for attention. I tend to respect those owners who let their players get the limelight and their coaches and GMs manage the football aspects of their teams.

Re: Jerry "Snare Drum Face" Jones
Hey you have a good night as well. It's a hard day for me when I'm arguing the merits of Jerry Jones. I hope our young QB is as good as I think he is. That will make us all very happy.

Re: Jerry "Snare Drum Face" Jones
So, why doesn't Jerry Jones stop the charade and just name himself as the head coach of the team? He's the owner, president, CEO and GM already. He just needs to name himself as the head coach and there won't be any conflict in Dallas. Except that the losses would pile up even faster than they have in this millenium.
The bad news - if Jones, does that - is that Danny Boy may feel as if he has to match that show of football insight. [shudder!] That would put Dallas and the Skins in the position of "perennial contenders for the #1 pick in the draft"...
