TAFKAS:

You're right. Dallas had all the luck having Harper, Washington and Turner all at the same time...

Well played, sir.

When did he win those, about a decade ago? Was it? Of course you can say the same thing about Gibbs, who last won a Super Bowl 16 years ago. The Cowboys are merely a shell of what they once were though, they haven't even won a playoff game in ten years, at least we've done a little better than that.

Jerry Jones' time with the Cowboys is a perfect "How To" and "How Not To" for other owners in the NFL.

The Good: JJ hired Jimmy Johnson and let him manage the team. Johnson stocked the team with great talent and they went on to win 3 super bowls.

The Bad: Once Dallas won their second SuperBowl, JJ in his ever present insecurity ran to any open microphone/Tv camera to try and take some of the credit. This pissed off Jimmy Johnson and Norv Turner and they bolted.
JJ then started to micro-manage the team and they went down hill fast.

The Good Again: He hired Parcells and let him manage the team. Parcells started to stock the team with good talent and got them in the playoffs two years in a row.

The Bad Again: JJ couldn't leave well enough alone and forced T.O on Parcells.

I really think owners like Snyder and Jones need to stay out of the day to day football related moves.
While Snyder is an exceptional bussinessman, he is clearly not a football man. He has certanly proven to be not a very good talent evaluater.
Frankly I am not sold on Gibss being a good GM yet, although he is doing a better job than Snyderatto/Spurrier.
Parcells didn't get them to the playoffs two years in a row! He missed the playoffs with them two years in a row, though. He got them to the playoffs his first year there and last year there, in four years, and lost both times!

I cannot stand Jerry "The Ham" Jones. The guy seems to be so full of himself and is always vying for attention. I tend to respect those owners who let their players get the limelight and their coaches and GMs manage the football aspects of their teams.

Once again I hate the Cowboys, but Jones gets the job done in my book. One thing to remember is that Jerry Jones was a football player. He won a national championship as a player and he obviously knows football a hell of a lot more than most owners including ours.
You just go on thinking like that. We're not here to judge you, man.

I guess you are some kind of comedian in your own mind. Make a point why don't you?

Did you read the previous posts I've written? That's when I made my points. If you want to give credit to Jerry Jones then you're well entitled. He's got both good qualities and bad qualities just like everyone else. I just think his bad qualities have gotten out of control in recent years. Like everyone on this discussion, I hope the trend continues. Sorry if I offended you, but giving Jerry Jones any kind of credit makes me a little nauseous.

Hey I'm not going to argue over the owner of the Cowboys for very long, but I read your previous posts and I can't find anything at all except you think Jerry Jones sucks. Good for you. Let's hope he keeps sucking. The thing is in the grand scheme of things he has a resume that makes your argument that he sucks look like a joke.

Alright, the grand scheme of things says that he's done alright for himself, I'll admit. I'll also say that in the grand scheme of things Joe Gibbs has done alright for himself as well, with your logic you should be on board with me that Gibbs is and will always be a great coach. I don't know if you've called for Joe's head or not, which doesn't seem like a thing you would do, but unfortunately a lot of people have around here lately. I hope you defend Gibbs as feverishly as you've defended Jones when push comes to shove!

Love Gibbs. End of story. Never said one bad thing about him in my life. Not one time. Hated the whole Brunell loyalty, but that's about it. I am torn when defending Jones, but he deserves credit IMO. He just happens to own the fffffing Cowboys. He played big time football so he kind of deserves to do what he does. Most of the rest are just rich boys. It's not like I enjoy the guys personality. He is a bigtime asshole.

Alright then. Glad everything is cool now. Hope you have a great evening, glad you love Gibbs, I still think he's the best coach around myself! Let's go Skins!

Hey you have a good night as well. It's a hard day for me when I'm arguing the merits of Jerry Jones. I hope our young QB is as good as I think he is. That will make us all very happy.
