i'm into jacobs and taylor, they're my preseason favorites... portis and the QB battle too, but to a lesser degree (we already know they're good).

Won't it be refreshing to see the preseason games being used for what they were intended - evaluation!? After we beat the 49ers in Japan a couple years ago during the preseason, you'd have thought we won the SuperBowl the way the media and league played it up! I know it was the ol' ball coach's debut, but probably not the best use of 60 minutes of competitive matchups with other teams in games that don't count.

You know who I really want to see is Sultan Mccullough. I'm hoping he makes a good impression in the preseason giving him a chance to make the roster. I also would like to see Cliff Russell, and some of the other receivers like Jacobs and Cloman. I think Jacobs will definitely make some heads turn.
As far as QB. Gibran looked ok in NFL Europe, so it will be interesting to see how that experience helped his development. MikenDC welcome to the warpath man..... |

I'm curious to see how the backup offensive lineman perform. The guy in NFLE got treated like a turnstile the one game I saw, and I realize they'll only have a little over a week in training camp but I'm still going to be geeked to see if Bugle has infused some confidence in them.
But just the thought that football is on the way is enough to bring tears to my eyes. |

Do you all think the QB competition will be going on in the preseason?

I'm excited to see how Hamdan has progressed and him running the offense with Mccullough, Cloman, and Jacobs. Plus I hope we can find some decent backups on the d-line.
I don't know if I missed it or not, but is Cliff Russel still on the team? if he is, it'd be nice to see if he's finally learned how to catch. |

I have some guarded hopes for Hamdan. Last year, in minicamps, it was said he clearly had the best arm of all the QBs. He certainly lacks experience, and IMO, while his NFLEL experience gave him some desparately-needed snaps, he also missed all the Spring work and is most likely way behind on the Skins playbook.
I think Hasselbeck is more suited for a WCO (like NYJ or Seattle), but he needs to stay around for next season as #3. I'd love to see him get traded for another '05 pick, but I think we'll need him next year if one of the top two go down. Hamdan should spend another year on the PS--learning the playbook and getting acquainted with Gibbs & Co. In '05, however, I look to see Hamdan as the #3 on the regular season roster (provided he doesn't somehow run afoul of the coaching staff--but he seems a good kid with lots of the famous "upside"). |

You mean the best arm besides Ramsey, right? |

i agree, from what i've seen, it'd be hard to convince me his arm is as strong as ramsey's...

It is not a knock on Ramsey's arm at all. He has a cannon. |

well, didn't champ say jacobs was the best WR on the team? dunno how you could say that with coles sitting there... but I wouldn't mind too much if it became true
opinions vary, but you're right, i believe i heard that comment too... |

I know this is off topic but which side of the stadium is the skins bench on? 101-110&133-142 or 113-130?
