Overpaid for? Maybe. We should still have something like 20 million in cap room, so excuse me if I'm not upset if the FO isn't pinching pennies.
It sounds like it's AA's deal. Trust me, Lewis didn't get benched because Andry Reid wanted to make him a patsy. Lewis got benched because he isn't any good. Trust us, we've watched him for years.

As for the 9ers using their cap space, I definately think they're smart to use their cap space. These contracts won't kill their cap, but they're still way too pricey.

That makes a ton of sense. Your starting corners are hurt so bench your starting safety to prove a point. It doesn't get any more logical that that....

he played okay as a part time LB towards the end of the year... that's not the type of position you give a 10$mill SB to though.

Redskinpete try to keep the stuff here just about the skins. Listen if you think AA so good your dreaming. Any halfass front office knew he couldnt cover anyone, he great against the run near the line of scrimmage. But horrible in space. Should have keep Clark who Taylor work with very well, instead of throwing 10 million to AA. Just wait now when Taylor comes up for his contract he going to want double. And about mom yes she was a good at sports. But everyone here on warpath knows no one is as good as you mom trust me wink wink. She in the pro bowl.

i think you totally missed the point. I believe he was simply saying that EVERYONE is better than AA, so when you said lewis was a little better, that wasn't exactly saying a whole lot.

All this shows is that the rise in the cap is commanding exponential raises in salary demands. When a shmuck like this can command that kind of money, it means we are going to have to knuckle in and start locking up players we intend to keep sooner rather than later.

Daniel Graham could very well set the bar for Chris Cooley. And as we can see from the last two days, the bar is only the starting point now.

Re: 49ers Sign SS M.Lewis

next year, everyone will try to bolt for the new money, only to find out that they flooded the market and hurt their own value.

the teams with the 30mill+ free in cap room are loading up now. they won't have the same flexibility next year when the "me too" class of FAs comes along.

although... the cards have been quiet, as have the packers.
