I could see that happening. He can start here for a couple of years until we groom a younger replacement.

Re: Another starting LG on the market

This should get done. Guards can play well into their 30s and be effectvie for the most part. He is a better in line runblocker than Dock which is saying something and sounds no worse on pass blocking. We'll miss Dock's athleticism on the longer pulls but that was a new found aspect of his game just last year. Thomas can still pull and Betts and Portis are quality enough to not necessitate a total road paving on the outside from a pulling guard.

Ed and a decent blocking TE is actually a functional upgrade over Dock I would say. If not a long term solution. I'd totaly be in favor of this deal and maybe waiting a round or two longer to pull the trigger on a guard of the future. We actually need to start stock piling linemen. Our line is getting old. In 3 years they'll be ancient. It'd be nice to have some fresh meat ready to take over.

Caveat:how is his injury? I gotta wonder with all the money being thrown at guards his cap num didn't look so bad. I know they have a capable replacement but simply for depth he could have been solid for them. Wonder if there are any unknowns at this point.

they ditched rabach and saved less than 2mill i believe, how's that working out for us? someone else came in and played well, so that was replaceable salary for them.

I really hope our FO is paying attention, and gets this guy in here. This is the break we needed in the FA guard situation.

I was just playing off all the Dockery threads that said he was offered 3 years, $12M.

Though I do think a 3-4 year deal at $12-$15M would be appropriate for Mulitalo.

The Post today says he's on our radar so that's good.

I really like the idea of bringing him in too. He's a very physical guy that would fit in great I think.

Re: Another starting LG on the market

I wouldnt feel comfortable giving him 3-4 mil, 2-3 would be good. The guy was cut with a small cap number, so something is up with his talent or something else is up. I dont understand why we'd give him more than what he was cut for when (I think) we are in worse cap trouble than those who cut him.

Re: Another starting LG on the market

At the right price he could be a GREAT pickup for our DOCK Replacement.
I hope they can bring this guy on board. Just slide him down the beltway a few miles, and put some REAL colors on this guard.

Get that DIRTY BIRD off his back.

I also really like the fact that Mulitalo played next to Rabach successfully for a few seasons in Baltimore. He'd be a great fit, and he wouldn't have to relocate himself or his family since DC and Balt are so close. I think this makes GREAT sense for us and him. I could see it getting done. I think 3 yrs $10-12M including a $3M signing bonus.

Well Baltimore just gave McGahee a $40M+ contract with a $7.5M signing bonus. I think the cut was in preparation for that kind of signing. Baltimore only had $3.3M in cap room entering the offseason....

The Ravens are in by far worse shape than we are cap wise. Last I checked we have around..... that's right 10 mil! THE REDSKINS....????!

The ravens under 3.5 mil

This guy would be a GREAT pickup in the 3 year range 9/10 mil. 2 mil SB
