That's basically what I said.

LT and 724Skinsfan should've made that list over Jacobs and Droughns.

That's why we have no intention of trading either one. RB, O-Line, and ST were the only parts of the team that worked last year. It would be cruel to upset "all that chemistry"

I agree, but that's because of Portis's contract and the way the Skins handle that kind of thing. Running back of the future, though? He's older than Clinton.

I agree with Quake, what ignorant fool puts a team sporting DeShaun Foster and another team sporting Reuben Droughns on that list.

Also how can the clear cut no. 1, Tomlinson and Turner, not be on that list?

A person who thinks the Giants have a better backfield tandem than the Chargers doesnt watch much football.

Yes, but Portis has been run to death since he has been in the league... Betts has been allowed to develop and grow.

If by grow you mean sit because he can't stay healthy, then I agree with you. If Betts is the running back of the future and they don't bring someone else in, they're in trouble.

Not to mention he'll be 30 in 2 years!

Sometimes it's not the years as much as it's the mileage.

You're right about Betts though -- he can't be counted on as a 16-game starter. In exchange for a high pick or two, we're hoping some other team falls for that.

I agree, but still, at 30, it's hard to annoit him. I don't think you wait till a running back turns 30 to make him the #1 guy. On that note, as far as mileage is concerned, he's missed significant time 3 out of his 5 seasons, that's gotta take its toll.

I meant that while Betts is older, Portis has way more mileage.

Either way, Portis will give us a major ground threat for the next two years or so, and Betts gives us a nice follow-up punch.

I still say that if somebody comes along and knocks our socks off with an offer for Betts, we should take it. Guys that can fill Betts' role can be found just about anywhere.

Have you ever heard of Tiki Barber... since he didn't play much in his early years, he only got better and better.... just look at his last year. Betts is more of a Redskin style runner and has the potential for years of being a great benefit to us.....

if portis bounces back strong these next two years then i would think the skins front office would just restructure his contract in order to keep him in a skins uniform.
