Re: The Last Briggs Thread? Bears Say No Deal
Nah, I believe that they are high on Rocky given what they gave up for him last year, and if the Skins were so down on him they would have gladly offered him up to the Bears.

Re: The Last Briggs Thread? Bears Say No Deal
Not to fast with the ending, the part with the deal not lost "yet". Might just be offer one doesn't work is there an option two? Pretty good chance.
I'm also, just wondering what they are thinking about with Rocky talent wise? LM we could part ways with in my opinion, not that it's a good idea to give them anyone!

I really hope this is the end of it. I don't want to hear anything else about the Skins until draft day when Goodell steps up the podium and says "with the 6th pick in the NFL 2007 draft the Redskins select......". |

Re: The Last Briggs Thread? Bears Say No Deal
So now that Briggs is out of the question, I'm guessing Vinny is on the phone right now with the Browns FO trying to trade up to fill another need that isn't there. Please god, don't let that trade happen either. When will we ever learn? Anybody have anything to say that can cheer me up?

I agree Matty, because while there are some players there that could help us along the DL, I'm not convinced there's anyone there they want to pay #6 money too. I think they're looking for a little more "Bang for the Buck".

Re: The Last Briggs Thread? Bears Say No Deal
I think they were high on him before they drafted him. But they are not high on him now. Perhaps he makes too many mentals errors in practice which is what I think the problem is. Otherwise Holdman (who was the worst LB I have ever seen take an NFL field) would have been benched last season and this trade would have never been proposed.

Re: The Last Briggs Thread? Bears Say No Deal
What would you guys think if the Skins came back and offered up Rocky, but asked for a 3rd round pick as well?? I doubt it will happen, but I think that would be the only way that this deal gets done.
Again, I'm totally against the trade, but if we do give up Rocy, we should at least be get a another pick to make for all picks we gave up to get him in the first place. |

Re: The Last Briggs Thread? Bears Say No Deal
I disagree I think Rocky and Lemar will do fine, and I also think the COACHING STAFF thinks highly of McIntosh and Marshall. I believe this really just boiled down to Snyder wanting to make another huge FA splash, he just can't resist the urge can he? So since Snyder probably has no idea about football, he probably thought Briggs would come over here and do great with us since he was so great in Chicago and unfortunatly it doesn't work that way, or we would've one the Super Bowl the last five years.

Well at the meetings in Arizona the Danny did say to the media that the Skins were looking to trade for him. Obviously he wasn't against it. Whether or not it was his idea we will probably never know. But unfortunately Danny and our FO has done plenty over the past several years for us to bash.....
