Re: Carr signs with Carolina as the backup
I think this is the last year for both Delhomme and Fox in Carolina

That's a really pathetic division when you think about it. Tampa Bay's once dominant D is yet another year older. The Falcons have no clue how to build a team around a guy who plays QB like a guy perpetually making his first NFL start. Every pick they use on a receiver who wont get the ball is another that they didn't use to rebuild the defense. The Saints can't possibly be a good as last year, and that leaves really the Panthers and Saints to fight it out of the division. When Carr inevitably replaces Delhomme at QB, assuming they dont have a Redskin-esque defensive dropoff, they will win some games. It won't be a dominant offense, but should be a passible one. Still, not really a threat of a team around playoff time. But 10-6 and a division championship is a pretty reasonable expectation, and one that IMO would save Fox's job. I think the interesting question is what comes of Delhomme if Carr leads them to a playoff birth. Does he stay on as the backup, or try to make it (unsuccessfully) in 2008?

Re: Carr signs with Carolina as the backup
i think delhome will loose if he has to go head to head with david carr delhome just gets way to excited and i think therfore causes him to make bad passes just like the redskins panthers game when i think carter was putting preasure on him and he threw it straight to sean taylor

Re: Carr signs with Carolina as the backup
Possibly, I know toward the end of last season there were a lot of rumblings that the Giants were interested in bringing Fox "back home" and vice-versa. Instead they kept TC for one more year, but you never know.

Amen. I wish we could play in Charlotte every year cuz it's so easy to get tix and the upper half of the stadium is mostly Skins fans. The stupid roaring cat gets annoying but it's a small price to pay. (when the Skins play on a different day than the Panthers I still go just cuz I love going to NFL games and it's easy to get tix). People don't arrive early cuz there is no parking lot for tailgating and cooking or drinking on city street parking is frowned on. Local stations give little coverage unless they're undefeated. And the amount of football knowledge is amazingly low for an area with a team. |
