Re: Anyone Going to the VA Gold Cup this weekend??

I live in warrenton which is like 3 miles from the plains where the gold cup is held, and we have a party for all of our friends afterwards every year, but we don't actually attend the event anymore... and this year we're in the process of moving, so there will be no gold cup party.... unless we happen upon someone else's...

Alot of my young friends go every year, and my sisters go every year, though... and there is always a plethora of fine drunk women sitting in bars around warrenton that saturday night...

was alot of fun in my single days...

Hessy, have you ever been to the Potomac Hunt Steeple Chase? It's a pretty good time.

It's in a couple of weeks and I have tickets...if you would like to go.

I mean as 'friends', of course....not a man

I used to teach so I can answer all of these questions. Private lesson with the child and horse are about $70/$100 a lesson depending on where you go. Semi-Private with two or three horses and students are about $50. And Group lessons with 4 or more horses and students are about $35 an hour. You have to buy boots for your kid, and it's best to buy them a helmet and not use the one at the farm. That will run you around $100. Most kids get 1 to 2 lessons a week.
