Re: What to do with Springs??
If healthy, I hope we keep him. If healthy he is our #1 Corner, leave him at CB.

I think in the end we'll keep him unless someone wants him in a trade involving a DE.

Agreed. And if we keep him, he starts at CB.

Re: What to do with Springs??
I sure hope we keep him. My concern is that the team has pissed him off to the point that he's going to push a trade, a la champ & coles. He's under contract, even if its a big cap #, that's still in our favor.
I think he's handled it well publicly, but he can't be too happy about the pay cut request. |

Re: What to do with Springs??
Despite the signing of Smoot and Macklin, I'm afraid to think about our CB situation without Springs in the lineup. Remember how out of sorts we were during the season when he was injured? He makes the difference in many things we can do as a defense, I hope he stays here, and stays healthy.

Re: What to do with Springs??
Keep him. He is still the team's best cover corner. Having Springs, Smoot and Rogers gives Williams the flexibility to be more aggressive in his play calling.

Re: What to do with Springs??
Handling Springs is a no brainer. We are now extremely strong at safety so a position switch would be wierd. We play Springs at Corner until he gets hurt and then move in Smoot.

Re: What to do with Springs??
while I agree w/your persepctive about keeping Springs in the starting lineup at cb, I would hardly say it's a "no-brainer" for the front office. They may have several good reasons why they have shopped him to other teams, or they may have pissed him off beyond repair by asking him to take a pay cut. I hope the relationship isn't a problem if he's to stay.
