Warner just went out with an elbow injury. Tim Rattay is in at QB.

Yeah I just saw that. Would love not to see Warner next week. We have to win that game. Period.

Re: on the bright side....

It is time for us to see Brandon Lloyd. I actually believe that he may have the best hands on the team when given opportunities. I would love to see Lloyd, Randel El and Moss on the field together at the same time. Moss is a good received and even a playmaker but I think that Lloyd can catch anything thrown his way. We need to get this guy on the field.

portis was fine....the fumble hurt, but it wasnt the reason we lost. He had very ineffective blocking...he had to make a man miss within a half a second of receiving the ball every time.....he had the ball properly tucked and it came out somehow. need to run the ball in the rain especially on that big fourth down on their thirty....There is always next week and we are at home!!!!!

Well said with respect to Portis. I think he is a little off due to the injury and probably not 100% himself, but he did pretty well today given the state of the offensive line. The fumble was bad, but frankly by that point we had already tried to give the game away a half dozen times.

We can use all the help we can get. Even though our defense isn't the issue, it's our offense.

Re: on the bright side....

My buddy watched the game with me today- he doesn't follow the skins much, but he totally gave it up to our D.

I think our secondary's play is truly underrated right now- everyone knows the first rounders, but the corners are getting to the ball as soon as it's caught. They're being disciplined, keeping everything in front of them. I'm still kind of scared leaving Rogers out on an island here and there, but overall the corners with our deep safeties have me confident about shutting down high powered attacks.

moss killed us
Lloyd hurt us not catching that deep pass
there were other dropped passes
and portis cant seem to stay on his feet whether running or catching passes
I know that he needs blocking up front, but damn.
Dude if Lloyd caught that pass, he should immediately be put in the pro bowl, that would have been crazy.

No doubt. That catch would have simply amazing. Unfortunately, I couldn't help but think "Did he slow down a little to time the dive?" Silly thinking, I know, but I have a weak mind.

The funny thing about this game are the countless "what if...?" questions that we all have going through our minds.

Re: on the bright side....

I might get flamed for saying this but I don't mind. I think Brandon Lloyd should be thrown the ball a little more. I'm being totally hypocritical, but how was I to know that Santana's slump was going to continue?

Unbelievable. He didn't slow down. He made a great effort on what would have been a miraculous catch. Leave Lloyd out of the 10 reasons we lost the game. Only really two reasons we lost...fumbles and dropped passes.

Re: on the bright side....

We killed ourselves. That was one of the ugliest games I've seen in a while. The defense looked good overall, but we couldn't get a damn thing going. Our O-line is in shambles and we just can't seem to score. We have all these weapons and what? We can't complete passes to WR's unless we're playing friggin detroit. I am so sick of this offense. The great Saunders/Gibbs hybrid offense is shit (again, unless we're playing Detroit). I know, IF IF IF IF. Well, if we were a good offense we'd be making plays. Fortunately we have a D that can keep us in any game, but this is shades of '04 all over again. Can't move the ball when it counts.
