Re: It's only one game, get over it

We need one of them healthy, at least. Agreed about Fabini--maybe it's time to give that other guy (forget his name) a try. The run game hasn't worked for either of our backs this year, and the reason, IMO is the O-line. Our best run guys were Thomas and Jansen, and both are out. Plus, and this matters, the Pats play a great run D--they keep the O-lineman from getting to the second level and let those LBs make plays. They beat us at the line on both sides of the ball today--as they have been doing to everyone. Move on and straighten out our own house.

That said, I just hope we win the games we should until Thomas gets back (early december hopefully). Does anyone else notice w/o him our rushing attack sucks (same in '05 too)?

Go up to NY and get a W. That's the only way to take the sting out of this. And we'll see what kind of mettle our team has--does it fire them up or bring them down? We're in a dogfight for a wildcard spot in a muddled NFC. Forget this one, and get the games you should.
Best advice I've seen after this debacle.

Betts seemed to run better than Portis for the few carries he had today. CP still looks gimpy, I wish he or the coaching staff would just come out and say what is wrong. Starting to feel suspicious here.

I understand that it is one game but it is more of a "gut check" type of game. I live in the Philly area and rarely hear the interviews to Coach Gibbs or the players but today I heard Sonny ask Gibbs "fluff" questions after being disgraced. No one seemed angry except London Fletcher.

This absolutely has to be Gibbs last year unless we make the playoffs. His approach to the game, including the play calling is awful!
I used to like the Patriots but today's game showed how classless Bellicheck is! I hope the Colts win the AFC championship and go to the Superbowl.

Fact is even after a win against the Jets next week, people will still be complaining

Either way, I'm making this thread title my new sig

I don't think so, he's a few players short, DE, WR, OL/OG. 1 more year to complete his contract, he's so close and Campbell will be 1 year wiser, makes a big difference.

Re: It's only one game, get over it

I am more dissappointed in the execution of Portis, and Jason Campbell than I am with anything else today. The turnovers gave up 17 points. And the defense still didn't allow a 100yd day for a runner or receiver. Jason has to learn from this game when it comes to protecting the ball. There is no way a QB fumbles the ball the same way without throwing it away.

Actually winning against the Jets means nothing against a 1-7 team. The next game is Dallas in Irving, Tx. If there isn't a major and I mean major philosophical facelift this week with the playcalling and Jason Campbell's reads this season will be over by week nine. Jason Campbell did not play well and his checkdowns were horrible missing Brandon Lloyd down the sidelines when he overthrew Randle El in the first half. That drive seemed to take JC's confidence and accuracy with the deep ball. Thjat overthrown passt to Cooley on third down was terrible.

Lastly, Joe Gibbs has shown a level of arrogance and stubborness that has caught up with him. He has not adjusted the playcalling with Sanders nor has he given Betts a chance to share the ball has he stated at the beginning of the year he would do. His poor sportsmanship shows a weakness and frustration that he has never exhibited before. If there is no chance by the time we play Dallas in two weeks, Gibbs needs to step down.

We got what we used to call a 'well whupped ass' today.. We went in to a game against a better team, played EASILY our worst exucuted game of the year and the results didn't lie.. We get back on track vs. the Jets next Sunday.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

But how do you feel about the overall team's belief in Joe Gibbs after the way we loss? Is he that out of touch with how to run an offense and communicate that to Sanders?

I don't agree with this--and it seems a bit contradictory. Saunders called those shot-gun drop backs, and JC fumbled three times. And, as you say, JC was not passing well. And we couldn't run-block for sh**. Why do you think that was not Saunders fault--this is HIS offense and HIS playbook--but Gibbs fault? We got our asses handed to us from top to bottom, just like everyone else who've played the pats this year. Plus, Gibbs shook Belichecks friggin hand already! What do you want, him to give a big sloppy kiss as well?

And if you really think the next game that matters is in Dallas, you are just wrong. We need to win the games we can--starting with the Jets. And if we win that one, however we do it, we've got a HUGE home game against the Eagles. I don't expect us to win in Dallas, though it would be great. Take care of the one's we should win, and get that wildcard in a muddled NFC.

Calling for a total tear-down after playing the pats is a mistake. The Pats are just that good right now. We've got the pieces, I believe, to make the playoffs, and the coaches to do it. Oh, and by the way, Spurrier lost this weekend--maybe he'll be available again soon. Should we go get him?

As much as people want to deny it, injuries can't be overlooked. Further, Jason Campbell had a terrible game today. Just awful. Does Campbell fumbling the way he did mean that Gibbs is out of touch? Nonsense
