Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
I can't really say I'm a Sally hater, but this is a really, REALLY poor piece of work. Seriously, what insight, or take, or position, can you get from this column?! Tom Brady is playing tremendous football, and Jason Campbell will learn from his sideline-viewing of Brady's work? Do tell. How about taking a position? Go out on a limb, and say that Campbell has the skills to be that good one day, or say the opposite, but SAY SOMETHING. Does Sally feel like writing columns is a pain in the ass? It's one thing if you have to strictly report the facts of an event that you might be covering, but having a column is the opportunity to vent any position you might have, more than once a week in some cases, and this is what she came up with?!
She also mentions Gibbs' three Super Bowl wins. What I would I not give to have a Washington writer or tv or radio sports reporter NOT mention the distant past. The current team and organization have NO connection to those teams, and the consistent references to them make us look pathetic. |

Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
to be honest, Sally gets paid to stir the hornets' nest when it comes to Redskins fans. With that said, she's doing her job and doing it very well. Forget the fact that her commentaries are usually uninspiring and predictable, it's what the media likes to do because the Redskins organization is such an easy target.

Re: The Bitch is Back (Sally Jenkins)
Anybody can be a reporter to be honest. Just have a decent command of the written word(grammar, spelling, etc), and you can be a journalist. Remember that FEMA press conference about the California wildfires? The FEMA plants asked questions that were no different than what the morons in the mainstream media would have asked, but the members of the media fumed over it. THe media is full of morons. Just look at Foxsports.com sportswriters and those fantasy football writers. They just state the obvious. Although I have to give Adam Shein of Foxsports.com his due for once. He did predict a huge Pats- Skins blowout. The whole thing about getting a degree in Journalism is a big waste of time. Some of the best writers today do not have a Journalism degree. Sally Jenkins is proof of that. She probably has a degree to get into the Post, but isn't very original in her reporting or writing. There lies the problem, no originality at all, which is so commonplace with todays reporters/newspeople.
