Re: Chad Johnson?

Re: Chad Johnson?
I'm not the biggest CJ fan, because of his ego. However, many prima donna wide receivers have had a change of heart after finding new homes. Don't know if its worth the risk though

Re: Chad Johnson?
too big of a move, lets keep some stability, no huge name signings, especially when we would have to yet again sacrifice draft picks

Re: Chad Johnson?
Well that what was said not sure if will actually happen tho. I think they are gonna clean house Palmer is fed up with the B.S. & I'm pretty sure CJ attitude will change in a new home anything is better than the Bengals franchise right now.

Well I agree we shouldn't give up picks for him if he is a free agent I would love to see us go after him. He reminds more of Moss than TO as a malcontent in that his petulance comes more from losing than from not getting enough attention or catches, imo. And he's a young, spry 30 with a couple probowl years left. |

Re: Chad Johnson?
I'm going to go out on a limb here... but I think if we can figure out a reasonable means to get him... we absolutely should.
He's a proven playmaker, and I think he would fit in great with our other receivers and personalities. I just don't think it's going to be possible to trade for him. We just don't have the ammo...

Re: Chad Johnson?
For all you thinking that he's a big WR, he's only 6'1" and 192lbs. That's not big at all. I say no...I'd rather take a chance on Mix.

At 30 he may be entering the last "elite" years of his career, and there is no way he is gonna take a paycut after putting up the most rec yards of his career this season, especially not to receive the passes of the unproven arms of JC and TC. Im not saying neither could help him produce the big numbers he is accustomed to, because Im sure they could, but I doubt CJ sees it that way. So, this team doesn't have the cap space, and WR is in no way a position of need for us right now. For all of you that want to dream about CJ coming here, have your fun, but it makes very little sense. Sure, it would be really really cool, but so would picking up a elite DE, and that would be much more practical. But hey, Gibbs is gone, Danny is back at the helm, Fuck practicality. What has it brought us? Two playoff appearances in three years . . . A young talented team with a lot of potential . . . A winning record in the best division of the NFL with the second hardest schedule . . . whoopty-fuckin-do. Where are the headlines? The big name FA signings? The QB controversies, and sideline antics? That is the Redskins we know and love isn't it? No? Well, at least thats the way you build dynasty, right? IMO, lets concentrate on keeping some continuity on this team in the wake of Gibb's departure, and learn from the PATs and wait on blockbuster trades and FA signings until we have a few Super Bowls under our belt. |

The problem with this team in the past hasn't been signing free agents, it has been signing bad free agents and mortaging drafts for older non-impact players. Just because Deion Sanders and Brandon Lloyd busted out doesn't mean we should never sign another free agent player again. I mean, London Fletcher and Fred Smoot didn't exactly destroy our defensive continuity last year did they? |

Re: Chad Johnson?
getting chad johnson is a bigger signing and a lot more expensive than getting fletcher or smoot...not really comparable imo
