TO signed what amounts to 3 1 year deals, w/08 being the 3rd. The boyz could cut him & not affect their cap at all. If he's a problem this playoffs & offseason like he was in philly, they might decide to cut him. He's probably got 1 really good year left before he slows down & has to become more of a possession reciever.

You know I was thinking the same thing. If there was a chance he could go to Dallas or the Eagles with Westbrook we would have a tough time with both of those teams.

Ummm, he had 81 catches for nearly 1400 yards and 15 TDs in 15 games this year. He's showed no signs of slowing down, he's a physical freak, he knows the team and the offense and hasn't been a problem on or off the field this year.

I think Dallas needs to get younger at WR. Signing another 30+ year old WR with a big contract and a bigger ego would be dumb. Crayton is solid #2, Witten is all-world, and they have two good backs. Why throw another massive ego into the mix? They should look to draft a good WR prosepct to develop until TO hangs it up.

We already have a tough time with both of those teams. Every team in the east really. We're 4-8 against the division the past 2 years. We don't need any of them getting any better.

Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy

I realy believe that this could work in our favor. He is entertaining yet put up top numbers. He would be our number 1 receiver, with moss no. 2 and randle el in the slot with cooley down the middle and portis on the draws. It sounds amazing to me with Saunders calling the plays with no handcuffs. Things like this never works out for us. We make trades that don't make sense (except for LG Kendall) but we won't this time because it makes sense. Synder please do what you do and bring Johnson here.

Well I certainly hope over the last four years if anything Dan has learned something about character. You don't want a time bomb in your locker room, this boy is a ALL ME nut case, leaving the EGO at the door will never happen!

If we have the right coach in position, I don't think they would touch him with a ten foot pole!

And WIN WIN explain? Last I checked we have no problem filling the stadium right now.

Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy

I agree we need an upgrade in size at the WR position. But I do not not not think CJ is the answer. Too expensive, too egotistical. I just don't think he'd fit in our locker room.

This team is bonded after what happened to us the last 5 weeks of the season. I hope Danny realizes that the personnel and coaching staff don't need to be blown up. A little tinkering and a few adjustments? Sure. But there's no need for extreme changes. Kinda like when Tomlin came into to Pittsburgh replacing a legend. He kept the personnel, kept the D-coordinator, and kept the smash-mouth style. Willie Parker had more carries than any back in the league. And they went to playoffs again. He understood. If ain't broke, don't fix it.

As I said, I think he's got 1 MORE year of being really good before he shows signs of age. That doesn't mean after 1 year he'll be worthless, just that he'll naturally slow down. He's shown no signs of slowing down yet, but he will, maybe even this weekend. You can't be a fast healer all your life, we'll see how this sprain affects him. It may not at all, but age eventually will. He may play out his career like Rice for 4-5 more years, but the years of him being a deep threat + dangerous over the middle & tough to tackle are numbered.

Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy

Chad Johnson is one of the few players in this league that seems to embrace what he does. He plays football, he plays it well, and he has fun. He brings fun to the fans and his teammates, and his celebrations rarely hurt the team. This guy is a class act, he does tons of charity work in Cincinatti, much more than I've heard of any current Redskins doing.

I would listen to Chad Johnson almost every week on Sirius NFL radio, and he couldn't care less about himself. All he wanted to talk about were his teammates and his team. He admitted he needed to step it up and said he didn't care if he wasn't getting a single catch every game as long as he was helping his team.

Chad says most nights he's in bed by 10PM, he's not out clubbing. He's not involved in shady activities. I don't think we can afford him, but he would make this team instantly better. We'd actually have a WR they have to roll coverage to which would open up everyone else and especially cooley.

Slow down like Joey Galloway? It's hard to say when WRs will slow down. And if you're right, the typical backloaded Redskins contract would work perfectly for him.

Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy

If we still had Gibbs I'd be all for bringing him on for the right price. I am talking no more than a 3rd. Moss got a 4th so I'd say at best a 3rd. But with Gibbs gone I am unsure. We'd be relying on the unknown in managing him. But he does give us something we desparately need.

I don't think he has 4 or 5 dominant years left either. But he is still putting up all world numbers. He's got 2 or 3 very good seasons left IMO. He is a total athletic/physical freak. Comparisons to Rice aren't really fair. Rice was never very physical or fast. He got by on finesse and second-to-none route running. TO is one of the best overall athletes in NFL history.

Remember how fast the Cowboys dumped Keyshawn when TO came into the fold? I know CJ is way better than Meshawn, but the point is you simply cannot have two personalities like that on the same team. I don't think Chad would be the problem of he became a Cowboy. I think TO would throw a fit though.

Thank you about time someone said the truth about CJ an does have plenty of charity for kids & the community. I don't think he is all about himself and the comparsion to T.O. is crazy. Does anyone have a sense of humor. Look I don't care if he lands in D.C. or not I just feel he shouldn't be judged for nothing. He is a passionate player so you will see him talking to Carson about things on the sideline. You heard Carson say I he thinks there should be a coach change. He damn sure didn't say he wanted CJ to leave and he could have because he is not a problem or the problem in Cincy. He is a class act and the fact that he is 30 doesn't mean nothing Marvin Harrison is what 35 hell if CJ can last that long (He can) that will be worth the investment. If Synder doesn't get him fine but who ever does will get one hell of a player.
