No he didn't get drafted I didn't even know him untill his first start with the Packers. He was 3rd string RB, but what I was trying to say is it's not like he's some crappy running back just getting lucky against the Seahawks he's put up amazing #'s for only starting half the year. Like a lot of people are pointing out here if CP had a better O-line I'm sure he would have had a better game and the weather was a BIG help for the Packers but Ryan Grant has been playing extremely well he's been having big runs in almost every game with or without the snow.... so what I was trying to say is he is pretty much a nobody but he's REALLY REALLY good for a non drafted RB in his first year... oh yeah he's averaged 145 yards on the ground in 8 starts and has 1130 yards since week 8 he's been doing a good job against a lot of teams not just the Seahawks...

Re: Green Bay can run on Seattle but we couldn't!!
My general feeling is that Seattle is an average team at best.
So I have to reiterate what only a few have said, the Seattle crowd noise is over the top. For example, Collins in the shotgun, signals for the ball. He doesn’t get it. He starts to scream at Casey trying to show he ready for the ball. Eventually he hikes the ball only after Collins walks away in disgust because the play clock expired. The D had an extra step on our O line, most of the game. Why else do you think they blew through, even on our healthy strong side? Seattle had at least four different guyz getting through. Our guys were completely nervous and frustrated, especially the rookie. There’s a rumor on my side of the world, that Paul Allen built that stadium to funnel the noise back down on the field. There seems to be some validity with that theory as Mike Sellers was complaining about them feeding crowd noise through the speakers. The NFL has already investigated and found nothing. Another investigation on the stadium but targeting stadium construction would be a good idea. Paul Allen has the resources and personel to design such a stadium. Heck, hes got a whole corporation of talent and state of the art equipment at his disposal to figure out how to manipulate human sound waves. When is it to far, for attaining home team advantage? This may have turned into a whine fest, but screw it. I dont care. We had the right team, the right coaches and the momentum damn it. This was our year and with how poorly Seattle played GB makes it more painful to think if any of this is true. :tongue |

Not to be a downer, but CP hasn't shown rushing prowess in the post season for his career

I was rooting for the packs today but i am pissed that our rushing hasn't been good. We need huge improvement.

Im with Smootsmack -- Heyer is an undrafted rookie going against arguably a top 3DE in the NFL. All things considered, I dont know if they slid help his way or not, but things were fixed in the 2nd half.

Re: Green Bay can run on Seattle but we couldn't!!
we were lucky we were even in the seattle game,it should have been so much worse than 13-0,but hey we came back and should have won the game,I still wish someone would show me the rule that you cant advance a kcikoff when nobody touches it.Also the crowd noise in seattle has got to be no doubt the best in the league.Last week I listened to the game on the way home from work on the radio and i had to turn it up all the way to be able to hear the announcers over the crowd,I had a splitting headache by the time I got home from the crowd noise being so loud, todays greenbay game I listened to on the way home and had the volume halfway and could hear it with no problem

I wonder when that rule was made,I'm pretty damn sure I have seen an onside kick that bounced perfectly to the kicking team and was returned for a td,and i'm thinking its been within the past 5 yrs,but time flies when your past 40,it could have been 20 years ago:confused:

With a washed-up backup for a right guard and an undrafted rookie for a right tackle it is no surprise we couldn't run on a playoff team. The success in the last four reg. season games had a lot to do w/ raw emotion and mixing blocking schemes. Emotion was not there for our offense in the Seattle game and their defense had studied our schemes (especially placing an extra tackle on the right side). Anyways, it shouldn't have been too much of a surprise contrasting our playoff game and the game w/ GB. Their o-line is young, healthy and playing very well. The more I think about our season, the more I hope we draft/acquire a stud right tackle AND a stud guard to backup RT and Pete. We need a line of Hogs! |

Re: Green Bay can run on Seattle but we couldn't!!
Lambeau in January? Come on folks get with it. A west coast team from the weakest division in the NFL comes in and gets its butt kicked by the Pack. Newsflash guys..... The Packers are used to playing in very cold weather, plus they were way better than the Redskins this season. If we played Seattle at Fedex we would have had a better chance of winning just because of the cold alone. We basically pulled a '05. Came on like gangbusters in December only to run out of gas in the playoffs. Our D isn't as good as '05 so we couldn't rely on it to win a game on its own though. All the Pack- Seahawks game showed is how much work the Front Office and new coach needs to do to get us to the next level. The team rallied around itself due to the ST tragedy, but ran out of gas in the playoffs, when emotion alone isn't going to win squat. Before our nice little run in December, this team was really mediocore. Seattle got us at home and beat us up in the last 12 minutes of the game. A total collapse on our part. It all doesn't matter anyway. Pats look like they already have it wrapped up.

Re: Green Bay can run on Seattle but we couldn't!!
Seattle is a completely different team on the road. Without the head start the crowd noise provides for their defensive front they lose a big edge. The footing further negated their speed. I asked and someone pointed out that of Kerney's 14.5 sacks, 10.5 were at home and 3 were against the lowly Rams who also play on a fast track and who lost most of their O-line this year. And of course today's loss made Seattle 3-6 on the road for the year. I wouldn't read too much into it.
