Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
I have a hard time thinking we could have lost Sean Taylor to a senseless murder and claim to have a better season than the Cowboys.
Just looking at the 2007 season they had the better season But big picture, so much depends on what happens moving forward. Will we carry our run (sans Seahawks) into next year? Will Campbell emerge as a Pro Bowl caliber QB? Will Glenn and Owens return to the Cowboys? What about their coaching staff? How will Romo respond to two consecutive grueling losses in the playoffs?

Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
You can look at it from two ways. First, d***as had a better record, won the division, and was the top seed. So, in that regard, yes. If you view at from expectations, than no. Outside of this site, noone expected the skins to be a factor, but many had d***as going to the super bowl from day 1. Throw in the fact that they rallied to make the play-offs, the sean taylor tragedy, and you have to say absolutely not.

Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
Id have to say the arguments for the cowboys having the better season are more convincing, but that obviously we finished stronger. What is encouraging going forward is that we nearly beat them twice this year despite the woes the skins went through; and the first game when we lost they were at the top of their game while we were hobbling through the middle of an injury plagued season. This definitely suggests that we can play with these guys. Not only that, but we can play with the Giants as well. It will be interesting to see how these three teams progress in the next few years. As SmootSmack alluded to there are alot of questions going forward, so it is hard to tell who will be the best in the NFC East next year. Hell, you can't count out the Eagles either; who knows, they may just bounce back. But at this juncture, I like our chances, lets just hope we're healthy next year, and can pickup where we left off against Dallas.

Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
Dallas had 13 wins, that's a very good regular season. However, they certainly did not live up to the playoff expectations that come with a 13 win season. Anytime you lock up the #1 seed anything less than the Super Bowl is a disappointment.
The Skins making the playoffs was a bit of a surprise. Not many were picking them to do much this year back in August. |

No way ...07 was a great season for the Skins...They let a few slip away, but in the end was in the hunt. Dallas believed their own hipe...."Best next the Pats."..lol they were not even near that good.

Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
You know I think most redskins fans may be a little disapointed how the season ended but proud that we made it to the playoffs and are relatively happy right now....not trying to terrorize jessica simpson away. So inspit eof the horrors of this season, it brought us all closer together, the fans and the team. I would have to say we had a better season. I am damn proud to be a redskins fan this week and that is more then I can say for most Cowboy fans.

The Cowboys were more consistant. The Skins (under their new coach, whomever that will be) need to find away to win during the middle of the season and not wait until every game is a must win at the end.

The Boys won the division and got a 1st round bye. There is no doubt they had a better season than the Skins.

Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
I honestly cant see this even up for debate. the cowboys finished 13-3, skins 9-7. The cowboys won the games they were suppose to, the offense finished in the top 5, defense not really sure where they finished, but had to be top 10. Romo, TO, Witten, Barber all had good if not great years. Most importantly, the 1st goal of every team is to win their division, which they did impressively. they were the #1 seed in the playoffs for the NFC. we were #6, and had to fight our way in winning the last 4 games. Comparison to how they did in the playoffs is moot. Are you going to say the same thing about the colts? I hate to say it, but the Cowboys had a much better season than we did. We lost games we could have won. we blew how many games in 4th quarter 6-7?? They made plays to win games, we didn't make them.
This is just a ridiculous thread. I am a very big cowboy hater, but realistically our season was not even close to theirs. |

Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
The Redskins had one of the worst seasons possible. I really wouldn't wish this season on any other team, even Dallas. I think we can draw hope from our team unity at the end and carry it forward but this season itself was one of the darkest ones ever in my memory (early 80's). We had a great team going into the season and every factor that could affect us negatively happened. Injuries to key players, late game turnover's, Sean Taylor's death, etc.
Dallas had everything going right for them the entire season but couldn't finish it off. To finish, I think both teams sort of leveled out at the end. We were playing low but rose up. Dallas played high and sunk down. Fans of both teams should be encouraged for next sesason.

Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
Well it really depends how you look at it....they played better football throughout, no questions asked. They were a better football team, no questions asked. Did they have a better season, overally, yes. However (and cowboy fans are more than welcome to weigh in on it), I think they're going to be much more dissapointed and look at this end result much more than we are. Meaning, I think Skins fans as a whole can look at 07 and be happy with how everything happened and we made the playoffs given the scenerios that happened during the year. Really tough to say, Dallas was better than we were, but depending how you look at it,our end result might be better.

Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
Dallas had the better year, though their's ended on a more sour note. My wife is a cowpokes fan & she laid around moping all day yesterday. We didn't speak after the game cause I said TO would start running his mouth & blaming somebody. Turns out, he did just the opposite. Crazy year.
Looking forward I think both teams have a lot going for them, but based on personel you would have to say that dallas is the preseason nfc east favorite again. It will be a crazy division. The pokes have 2 #1 picks + all their others & they already are a young team on D. They just need to re-up w/the o line & recievers. TO has at least 1 more good year (though I won't be surprised to see some drop off) & Glenn might contribute. If Phillips & Jones are worth their salt, they'll get the players to believe that this season was part of the learning curve & that they should regroup to be better. Happens to a lot of teams, e.g. the Colts this decade. We have a lot more holes to fill IMO, but this year showed that we've begun to establish some youth & depth. It really hurts to end the season missing your top 3 picks from 04-06 and that will also take a toll on our decisions this year. |

Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
They won more games but when the games mattered the most they were one-and-done just like us. Plus they probably have the inside track on the "Most Disappointing Team Ever" crown. When you're 13-3 and then lay an egg in the first game you've got a lot of explaining to do.

Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
Dallas by far had the better season. They posted more wins than the Redskins and were the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Now, their finish was very disappointing. They finished the regular season with three piss poor performances and failed to win their first playoff game. Dallas fans should be ashamed and look for a scapegoat.
On the hand, the Redskin season was up and down like the stock market. Injuries to key players, the death of Sean Taylor, surrendering the lead in the second half of games and losing a Hall of Fame coach. These events do not make a good season. The team showed a lot of heart, determination and resiliency but it was very stressful for the fans and because of Sean Taylor's death, a season most fans will never forget. I love the Skins to death, but this season was rough. God blessed Joe Gibbs with a great finish in the regular season but in the end, the career backups couldn't pull off the Cinderella story.

Re: Did The Cowboys Have A Better Season Than The Redskins?
So it seems by the responses that total wins is synonymous with having a better season. I guess I can buy that.
