Re: With the next round of HC interviews, when do you think the SKINS hire the new HC
I'd like to see it as soon as possible to see what happens with Saunders, so we can move with another OC in case he decides to leave. I'm afraid the good OC's will disappear and if we lose Saunders then we'll be screwed.

Re: With the next round of HC interviews, when do you think the SKINS hire the new HC
I say monday at the earliest, or maybe later in the week to coincide w/super bowl hype.
I agree w/Matty, I think the multiple interviews are a good indication that GW is the man & they must be ironing out some serious biz. the one thing I fear is that they are giving great discussion to booting AS. I hope Snyder is requiring that he stay, maybe there's discussion related to that too & how they will proceed in 09 when AS' contract is up. |

I just don't see why the would continue to meet if Williams wasn't a serious candidate. |

Daniel Snyder has probably made up his mind as to who his head coach is going to be, and that guy is Gregg Williams. These other interviews are to "get to know" Williams better, to talk football philosophy, and to work out fine details in regards to Williams' contract and who he wants on his coaching staff. Some of you may think this can all be worked out in one lengthy session, but I'd rather these men take as long as possible to make the right decisions. Interviewing these other candidates are also vital, because you always keep a backup plan or two, in case the first guy doesn't workout. You also look for several other things. Such as possible future assistant coaches (you know Snyder can be persausive) and also to scout other teams. It doesn't surprise me at all that Snyder and Williams are "interviewing" this much. I'd also add that the language of "third or fourth" interview is to stay within the rules of keeping the job "open" until the Rooney Rule is satisfied. Otherwise, Williams would be hired officially by now, and these other "interviews" would be nothing more than meetings.

I agree.....Plus it could be that Snyder is also thinking long term in the event he does hand the reins to Williams. He could be building bridges to the future in the event things do not work out for Williams. If he does get the job I'm interested in seeing the length of the contract. I'm sure Snyder will make the right decision, and he's taking this vacant opportunity to gather as much information as possible for future reference.

Re: With the next round of HC interviews, when do you think the SKINS hire the new HC
COME ON!!! Do we all think that this is really a "4th interview", they probably have everything already worked out but the signature on the dotted line, until the Rooney rule is satisfied. They are already in player discussions....i.e. draft picks, available free agents, free agents to be on the skins, aka springs etc...
Am I the only one that feels everyone else is being very naive about this, he ain't a multi-billionare at 35 for nothing.....He knows what he is doing and is playing the "game" by the rules. We have all done it some time another.....whether it be football or business, rules is rules.....but COME ON!!! |

Why IF GW gets the job, which I DO think he will. IF the club were to sever ties with Al, which I DON'T think they will? But if so...... Why would we all of a sudden be in limbo era?

Re: With the next round of HC interviews, when do you think the SKINS hire the new HC
I'm having a very slow day at work and JLC hasn't updated the Redskins Insider since yesterday and I feel like I'm losing my F'ing mind!!!
I feel like a kid trying to go to sleep on Xmas Eve night. I need an update, even if it's just a rumor or lie.
