Snyder was qouted as saying he is listening to the advice from coaches he is interviewing from other teams. Not sure I agree with that. Rival coaches do not want to see us do better.

My main concern with this rather strange and process is we are really limiting ourselves as to the HC position. The new incoming coach is going to have accept Zorn and Blache running his to most important units. I do not know of any stong HC canidate that would accept that unless the guy is desperate for a job.
The other possiblity is we already have an under the table agreement with one of the coaches in the Superbowl and he was ok with Zorn and Blache.
This entire process is not ideal.
Im thinking that is the case based on this comment of Snyder's from the article:

"The process of selecting a new head coach continues, although no hire is planned until after the Super Bowl so as not to distract from the Championship game as well as to keep open all our options."

I must say that at this point, I would like for the team to get the OC from New England. I mean it's not a bad deal to get the guy the ran the offense of the NFL's most successful team in the past 10 years. Besides, our offense was lacking these past four years. I know once again Snyder is going against everything that seems right, but he owns the team and unless we get 30,000 ticket holders to cancel and drop down the attendance at FedEx field, there ain't a darn thing we can do.

either get a west coast HC (Fassell) because we have a west coast OC now, or get a HC who runs the same defense as blache. does he run the 46 like williams?

So does the head coach call any plays if his cordinators are already in place?

You said it! We are going backwards....again. It did not take long for Snyderatto to dismantle one of the best coaching staffs in the entire NFL and begin to replace it with inexperienced people. Maybe they bring back Spurrier?
One of my main concerns is without Bugel our o-line will not continue to develop. Are we headed back to the Spurrier days of Ramsey gettign sacked every other play?

Hmm... I wonder if Snyder lured Bill Cowher. I mean, if the HC is in place, it can't be Fassell...can't it?

we want spagnuolo. he could make our d just as good as williams made it if not better. his blitzing scheme is genius and with our athletes on d we could be great.

zorn will make campbell a superbowl qb guaranteed!!!!

To my knowledge Jim Zorn has never been a coordinator, but the guy is obviously highly regarded around the league. On the other hand Blache was an excellent coordinator for the Bears.

Then how did Balche end up on the redskins? Did he get fired or did he walk?

I wanted Gregg Williams but this shows me Dan Snyder actually has some common sense. Not alot of it but it shows me he has enough to promote a guy that was deserving. I wanted Williams/Saunders/Blache but I guess we will have ?/Zorn/Blache. I dont know maybe Snyder has turned a corner. We all wanted Gregg WIlliams but Snyder hiring another deserving guy Blache as DC shows me maybe there is some hope for him.

Re: Official press release from SKINS Blache and Zorn to take over OC/DC.

Well if you wanted continuity in the defense, this is a way to do it. I don't think Williams would have stayed as DC, so Blache makes sense. I think it'd be crazy to think that a HC hasn't been hired, b/c it would be insane to hire a DC/OC w/o the coaches input. But given than Williams is out and Fassell doesn't seem to be the candidate either...there has got to be another unknown candidate. But who? Cowher? Billick? Schottenheimer? I know those are crazy possibilities, but I just can't believe that there is no HC selected already.

If I remember right when the Bears fired Jauron, he asked to be let out of his contract and look for work elsewhere before all the opportunities were taken up, and he wasn't sure what the new coach's plans were.

As for Zorn, I don't know what it matters that he's never been an OC before. Everyone has to get their start somewhere.

McDaniels isn't coming here. He doesn't have any ties to Zorn.
