Re: RI: Something to chew on
13 positive votes in a row for Mooch.
Overall record, 75-71. 60-43 with 49ers. 15-28 with Lions. No one wins with the Lions. More positive feed back than Fassel. Younger than Fassel. No HC experience in a SB, however. The record compares to Fassel, and the connections to the B&G are blury, but are indeed visible.

Re: RI: Something to chew on
Good read.
If it is Mooch though, props have to go to several people on this board who have brought him up in recent weeks. I think Paintrain was the first

Re: RI: Something to chew on
I've seen him coach at Cal-Berkeley then the 49ers, he's a great coach that got a raw deal after the 49ers changed ownership from Eddie D. to his sister and hubby (Dr.York). The guy is a great coach, he would get re-united with Brandon Lloyd, Andre Carter, Jimmy Farris and possibly Pearson Prileau. I'll let you all know if I hear some rumors around here in SF.

Re: RI: Something to chew on
Yep, he'll be more than happy to give him the boot. I wonder how AC feels about BL? By the way I would take mooch over Cowher any day.

Re: RI: Something to chew on
Personality wise he would be a great fit here. Down to earth, a real players' kind of coach. His background in the WC offense is also very intriguing. I'm really not seeing anything to hate here.

Do you think it will be Mooch now and not Fassel?........And, which one would you prefer? I'll go on record and say I'd prefer Mooch over Fassel, but will support whoever the choice may be.

Re: RI: Something to chew on
I'm all for Mooch! I don't know about the "great coach" part, but he's a good coach who has tasted some success in the NFL. At this point, I just want the process to be over so we can move forward.

Re: RI: Something to chew on
He was Brett Favre's QB coach in GB, was a pretty good coach for one year at Cal till Carmen Policy and Eddie D. hired him, had a pretty good career with the Niners. The only thing that might be in the back of his mind is that he had to follow Bill walsh and Joe Seifert here in SF and now he has to follow Joe Gibbs.

Re: RI: Something to chew on
I mentioned Mariucci in a previous thread, but I still say Fassel is the chosen one (I hope I'm wrong) I would take Mariucci over fassel and any other candidate without blinking. The thing that I'm puzzled about is why would Mooch take over a set coaching staff? I know there are some coaches that he has worked with, but there are also some that he's not familiar with. I guess like JLC said, MONEY TALKS!! We'll see.

Re: RI: Something to chew on
I hate this. Now, I'll be even more disappointed when Fassel is named. I'll be thinking "we coulda had mooch..."
