Re: Bernard Berrian

Berrian is a player. I've watched him a ton on Sunday Ticket since I had him in fantasy for a couple of years. Disappointing stats for a fantasy guy, but he just makes plays. Bad QB play has done him in out in Chicago. Very very good player. I'd be willing to say he is very comparable to Chad Johnson and is younger, cheaper, and wouldn't cost any picks. I kind of had forgotten about the fact he was a FA. He'd be tremendous.

Re: Bernard Berrian

I would take him over cj,cj is just another t.o. plus we'd be giving up too much to get him,but knowing snyder, sounds like he wants him and will do whatever it takes, hey dan, how'd jeff george work out for ya?

Re: Bernard Berrian

I'd say it makes to much sense. Which is why Synder won't do it. Then again he favored making Jim Zorn the HC instead of big name, so who knows. Maybe this is the offseason where Snyder gives the "plain Jane" a chance as opposed to Mika, the platinum blonde with huge breast but zero personallity.

Re: Bernard Berrian

Has anyone watched Berrian play? He takes off plays and drops easily catchable balls. He is fast and makes the highlight plays, but he is really more suited as a slot or #2 at most. I agree w/ SCSkinsfan that he is exciting, but we really need one consistent wr.
If the thinking around Redskins Park is that Moss is an electrifying #2 and ARE the #3, then adding another speedster isn't the answer. It will still leave us with only Cooley to go to on 3rd and 7.
Porter, same thing.
DJ Hackett (another likely FA) is another good #2.
For all of King's whining about you shouldn't get into the HOF running 8 yd curls, what I would give for a solid possession as a #1.

Keep in mind that this guy had the Grossman/Griese/Orton trio of mediocre QBs throwing at him, and he still performed better than S.Moss (61 Rec/808 Yds/3 TDs) or even Randle El (51 Rec/728 Yds/1 TD).

Berrian would give the Skins the tall possession receiver they've been craving and they wouldn't have to give up any picks. I think that a WR tandem of Berrian, Moss, and Randle El, along with Chris Cooley, would give the Redskins a solid passing game. Plus we wouldn't deal with the baggage that Ocho Cinco brings, nor worrying about shelling out tons of $$$. I hope that now Gibbs is gone, DS doesn't go back to his old ways of giving up picks at the drop of a dime.
You make a great point and I see this working into our scheme better then all other options, taking everything into consideration. I mean lets face it; this guy has had 3 solid years of growth with absolutely NO QB to speak of. He is big and can turn on the jets to blow past DB's. I really have enjoyed watching him over the past two years and think he would make a great fit in DC.

We wouldn’t have to give up anything to get him and could utilize our draft picks to focus on both O & D Line! Let's make it happen, best deal by a mile!

Great points Cooley1, Berrian could thrive with a much better QB, and two other very good receivers in Moss and Randle El. Plus the important thing is that we wouldn't spend draft picks. No one is comparing Berrian to CJ, but the Redskins are going to have to give up a lot if we are able to trade for him, and disregards other areas of need such as both lines.

Re: Bernard Berrian

Berrian had some better than decent numbers with Grossman, Greise and Orton (the NFL equivalant of Moe, Larry and Curly) throwing to him. If he is able to produce with those 3, just think of what he can do with JC as his QB.

With JC (whom I think is a better QB than the other 3 combined) Berrian could really shine. It is a win-win situation if you ask me.

Thanks for the props on JC my man. I feel the same way, I'm not ready to crown him yet but feel his size, mobility and strong arm will make him into a great QB in the right system, west coast anyone???

Thanks bro, I think we both agree this will be the best fit top to bottom for our organization. Let's get everyone else aboard the BB Brigade!

Re: Bernard Berrian

Wouldn't Booker or Peerless Price (also FA's) be better options? Bryant Johnson is my dream (second to Larry Fitzgerald getting cut) but there are plenty of currently unemployed wr's and even more soon to be so. I know that Berrian has never had a QB and plays in an offense that is detrimental to wr's (evidence Mushin Muhammed) but I still think he is too similar to Moss and ARE.

Re: Bernard Berrian

I think the best option would be Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona is going to have a hard time restructuring that contact of his and will be forced to cut him. In this case we get a big young receiver without having to give up any draft picks, he'd be the perfect compliment to S. Moss. He's the big target we have been missing for years.

Stay away from Peerless Price. All I have read and heard is that the Redskins need a BIGGER WR and not a smallish one.

Price is less than 6 feet tall. And he has not done anything in 3 or 4 years worth writing about.

They were just talking about Fitzgerald and the Cardinals yesterday on NFL Radio. LF really wants to stay in Arizona and ithey are in the process of re-working his contract now. Fitzgerald is not leaving Arizona.

Re: Bernard Berrian

Berrian is incomperable to Ochocinco. Berrian I think has been injured a lot and that is exactly what we need right? Chad Johnson is much better. Berrian is just like Moss.

I wouldnt think so, it would be a horrible move for them. They will figure out a way to work his deal. I dont think there is anyway they let this guy go for nothing in return, not going to happen.
