Re: -- Zorn to Talk to Lloyd Before Cutting Him --
Zorn may have a more relaxed clubhouse atmosphere that tolerates guys wearing profanity on their hats thus not creating any extra tension. It's hard dealing with whiny crybabies that are used to getting their way but some people work better with them than others. Hopefully Zorn is that guy.

Hopefully it will be a quick talk to tell him he's cut.

Re: -- Zorn to Talk to Lloyd Before Cutting Him --
This makes sense because Brandon Lloyd was a model citizen and not a malcontent in San Francisco. He never caused problems in that locker room and his actions in Washington are totally without precedent. Because the Redskins really did great research before trading picks for him and there were no signs at all that he would be a problem once he got to Washington ....
Oh, wait ... nevermind ... Several signs point to Lloyd departure http://www.redskinswarpath.com/locke...oyd#post158525

I think we can't place blame on one person for BL. The whole FO/Head Coach get the blame for allowing the trade to get BL. Even if Al Saunders wanted BL, it doesn't mean that we had to do it.
I agree though, let's just cut our losses. |

Re: -- Zorn to Talk to Lloyd Before Cutting Him --
I say you give him a chance under a new system with a new head coach, why not? You’re going to pay him more to cut him. So, lets just say he has a mediocre year for us and then we decide to get more youth at WR - we may actually have a chance to trade him the following year, further eliminating cap hits and getting something in return.

Once a bum, always a bum. We need to cut him loose and move on from this mistake. I'm sure Zorn is just saying what he has to say at this point.

Re: -- Zorn to Talk to Lloyd Before Cutting Him --
The only reason I can think of to keep Loyd any longer would be to play him in preseason to boost his trade value. Problem w/that is the guy has negative value at present, so he'd have to be dominant on the field & somehow convince teams he's a changed man for us to even get a 7th for him.
I can only think of one team that might make a deal for this guy; Oakland. Who knows, maybe Zorn will keep him on the roster & then cut him or trade him if he can find a sucker. |

Class act to give him face to face chance. You never know how a new coach may be able to connect but the guy may have too much baggage as a skin.

Re: -- Zorn to Talk to Lloyd Before Cutting Him --
I don't see what the idea is behind releasing. I don't like him anymore than anyone else, but this guy has 0 trade value and will cost us money to cut. So, what's the point of getting rid of him. I don't believe that he's a cancer, so addition by subtraction doesn't really make sense to me. I feel like, we have to keep him and give him a shot to pick it up. Maybe he'll fit in a little better with Zorn's offense? Doubtful, but if he can become any kind of contributor, it would be nice.

Re: -- Zorn to Talk to Lloyd Before Cutting Him --
I still haven't given up hope on Lloyd. I'd like to see him actually get an opportunity. All it can take is a change of scenery/staff for a whole new player to come out. We've seen it many times before.
