You can if the ball touches the QB's hands. I can't remember what that play is called, but we used to do it all the time in backyard football.

Re: 70Chips's Play Calling Advice for Zorn
I was actually talking about the center snapping the ball into the QB's hands, and then pulling it away from him and running forward with it -- so, no fumble involved. It's only good for a yard or two (if that).

2. I've been watching that too and it seems we're sending out 5 guys a lot but in contrast the QB is suppose to get rid of the ball quicker. It looks like they had better start giving Jansen some help. Especially in the opener. No way is Jansen going to be able to block Tuck 1 on 1. 9. I think we're going to see JC on the move a lot more once the real games start. |

Only call plays that work, but don't call them too often. The defense might pick up on it!

Regarding #1, my attitude is get the ball in Santana's hands early and often. You can make Cooley or Thrash wait a bit, but the sooner Santana gets it, the better off we will be. Once he makes a play or two he seems to get into his comfort zone and is capable of huge games. The Screen is any easy way to do that. If that particular play doesn't do it for you, draw up another. But, just keep him interested. Regarding #9, I agree. I expect Campbell to be on the move a lot more than Hasselback was, even though its the same offfense. Jason is excellent on the move.
