Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
Rogers possibly has the worst ball skills of any CB in the league. In last years Week 3 game vs. the NYG, if he reacted to the ball, not the man on the Plax TD, it would have been AT WORST a bat down, if not a pick. He's pretty much just a mirror that tries to reflect what the WR is doing with no regard for the football.

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
Yeah, and just think, at the time we all chalked that up to rookie jitters... If we only knew!

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
Rogers at least appears to be improving while Smoot is clearly regressing. I don't think he's starting quality anymore at all. The quicker we can move him back to the nickel the better.

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
Smoot tends to be a bit of an overachiever in my opinion. There's no shame in being a nickelback in the NFL, but that's probably the best he can hope to be. Rogers on the other hand. I don't know, maybe it's just wishful thinking but he could be one of the league's best if he just held on to the damn ball.

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
Yeah some more INTs would be nice, but at the same time if all we get from Rogers is tight coverage and pass defenses, that's not a bad thing either. Darrell Green dropped his fair share and he turned out alright.

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
Carlos doesn't have bad hands. He leads the team in pass deflections every year!

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
I thought Smoot dropped one in the end Zone as well in like the second quarter. I know we dropped at least 3 and it was not all Carlos, although he probably does have the worst hands on the team.

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
Was it last year or the year before where we ended up with 3 picks in a game but could have had atleast 6 or 7? And of those drops, a few of them made it look like the DB was the receiver.

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
On a positive note, I'm just glad we have something Rogers-related to talk about this early in the season other than his knee injury. If he wasn't ready last week AND Springs couldn't go, that 16-7 score might have looked quite a bit worse.

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
I still haven't forgiven him for that sure TD against the Seahawks in the playoffs. Could have been the differnce maker. Has not shown any improvement.

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
I wonder if they have these guys work with the WR's coach and have them catch some balls in prctice.

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands
Williams brought Rogers in to be a physical corner. The downside is that his hands are wretched.
...You can't have it all, at least not with Rogers.
