Re: Horton Wins NFC Defensive Player of the Week

It would be terrible if Horton could not start this week. Especially after winning defensive player of the week. Just because Doughty "can line people up on D" doesn't mean he should start. I don't have a crush on Horton its just that Doughty does not make plays at SS and he's had his chances to do it. To not start Horton again this week would be crazy in my opinion

I think the rookie thing is a diet pepsi thing or something.

IF horton does in fact start and he is able to keep up this high level of play, teams will eventually have to start game planning for this kid. The dude must start! He had a monster game.

I agree how can you sit a guy that played as good as he did last week. Reed should be the back up this week.

It may not seem like that much (except to Horton), but these kinds of things act like buliding blocks for success

Can't wait till Blache and Zorn decide to start Doughty again next week.

Horton deserves at least next week to see if he can produce consistently. If not, give Doughty his spot back.

While I do think Horton is a better overall football player than Doughty, it's not really that big of a deal if he doesn't start. It's not like an offensive position where a backup can go the whole game without seeing the field. Defensive players switch in and out all the time, especially in Blache's system that has so many different packages. I'm sure Horton will see the field quite a bit on Sunday.

That being said, I would guess that if he continues to perform anywhere close to the level he did last week, he will move up on the depth chart, very soon.

good for him. hopefully all his new supporters don’t turn on him when he makes a rookie mistake and gets burned.

Re: Horton Wins NFC Defensive Player of the Week

i like what horton did last week and am happy a skins gets a weekly honor but . . . (heres where i get in trouble) like horton said the 2 picks he had where from being in the right place at the right time deals and not some great individual effort plays.

he gets credit for putting himself in good position to take advantage of those tipped balls in the air and it seems his college scouting report that he is a "ball hawk" is holding true. man its nice to see young hungry guys out there.

go skins!!
