Re: Redskins vs. Cardinals predictions
The Cards are 2-0 this year, while riding the Warner Wagon. He's definitely in sync with their 2 stud WRs, with 23 of 38 completions and all 4 TDs going between Fitzgerald and Boldin. And while Edge has lost a step, he can certainly turn it on behind an solid offensive line led by Levi Brown. Their defense has been solid this year, currently 7th in the league. However, the Cards 2 wins are against San Fran and Miami, and play in the weakest division in the NFL.
The Skins showed in the 2nd half last week that they are a good football team. Campbell made a 180 from his showing at the Meadowlands, and Portis put in another good 2 TD performance. The defense held their own against a solid Saints offense, giving up 55 net rushing yards and 250 net total yards. Two things will determine the outcome of this game. Which Campbell shows up, and how much pressure the Skins can put on Warner. I must still be high on last week's fumes... Skins 21 Cards 17

Re: Redskins vs. Cardinals predictions
Laron Landry will take Warner out of the game early on a safety blitz. Leinart will come into the game with something to prove and the crowd/pass rush/tight coverage will eat him alive. The Skins are winning this one.

Re: Redskins vs. Cardinals predictions
Just go ask Burress.. He'll tell you if LAron can hit..
PLus, T.O wont even go across the middle Vs us... I think he was probably the happiest person to know he wouldnt even have to go against S.Taylor anymore but Landry is just as fierce... he will continue to learn how to lay the wood, its only his 2nd year and hes already considered one of the best Safeties in the NFL already. I mean its physics, and brandon jacobs can talk about him trucking Landry all year and for the rest of his life. But how about he finishes a whole season without getting hurt before he starts talking shit? I dont think he even has a touchdown yet dopes he?? Jacobs is the type pf back who wears down as the season goes on and becomes a non-factor.. mark my words I would rather have Jamal Lewis |

Re: Redskins vs. Cardinals predictions
I'm not gonna go all Joe Gibbs here. Cards haven't played anyone yet. Kurt warner is good and wiley, but not good enough since we really don't have to sweat their ground game.
Skins win. 27 - 16. Zorn puts them away early and the D can just sit back and cover and rush.

Re: Redskins vs. Cardinals predictions
I'd like to think that this game we actually make it into the endzone more than once or twice. Last week should've been a blow out if it wasn't for our redzone woes.
Hopefully Zorn fixes it this week. Skins - 27 Cards - 20

Re: Redskins vs. Cardinals predictions
Redskins 27 - Cardinals 24. Our defense is better than I expected, but I don't think it will be able to shut down the Cardinals passing attack. Expect Warner to throw for over 200 yards.....and a pick or two. Oh and JC doesn't have a stellar game and people again change their tune about our QB.

You're crazy man, Campbell isnt going to go back. He's the type of Qb whp has shown progress in every game that our offense gets in sync. That also means our WR's have to catch balls and our RB's have to score and get 1st downs to keep campbell's confidence up. The only time Campbell has a bad game, is when his line doesnt block for him and his WR's let him down, and that will happen to EVERY qb, i dont care who you are. (i.e - Matt Hassellbeck,Peyton manning,Drew Brees, Etc are proof of that. Just look at their performances the past week or 2 ( not soo good ) Everyone that isnt a homer and knows anything about football knows that WE finally got ourselves a good qb who can actually lead us to the promised land, but just like ANY other qb, he will have growing pains. You just gotta take the bad with the good, and know that one day, he will be over the growing pains and will be confident like Peyton or Brady in the pocket. I bet you Giants fans would be kicking themselves if they got rid of Eli Manning everytime he had a bad game or at every whim of a pissed off fan that wanted to bench Eli when he was going through his rough times.. I have had confidence in Campbell the second we drafted him because I trust Joe Gibbs and the front office, they have drafted VERY well the past 7 years, so why wouldn't I? PLus, Campbell has everything you want in a franchise QB.. Joe Gibbs is alos the only coach to win 3 superbowls with 3 different QB's so Gibbs saw something in him and so do I. He was the big reason Auburn went undefeated when he was Qbing them and he ha sgreat poise in the pocket, He just needs to work on his touch and im sure there are a few other things he knows he needs to work on, but im excited about the steps he has made. Also, we have Colt Brennan who is a great project who could sit behind Campbell and develop into a either a great Back-up QB for us, or we could trade him or JC when times comes and we can get something in return, which would be great value from a late, late round pick. I think the redskins could be considered the best team in drafting late in the rounds because alot of those players have turned into starting caliber players or are starting to develop into one. (golston, montgomery, blades, doughty, horton, etc) I hope we continue to stockpile draftpicks because that is the best way to go. When you draft young players like Colt Brennan, or Kareem Moore, or Horton, Or Doughty who didint play for the biggest schools but they are fundamental, and smart, and the coaches know they can build on that. Also, I think when you get drafted by a team, you want to show that team that all 31 other teams were stupid for not picking them, and they get attached to their teams. Free-Agents on the other hand, yes, they work, but its not the same. Like Jason Taylor and Fletcher, Yes, these are GREAT players but imagine if that was US that drafted them, we would be alot better off in the checkbook, and they could have done for our team what they did for their other teams in the past. Vinny Cerrato doesn't get enough credit for his eye when it comes to drafting prospects. Of course we are human, so of course we arent ALWAYS going to hit, but I tell you what, as long as Vinny has been here, we havent missed much.. But then again, we havent had alot of draft picks in the past like we did this year, and I think (hopefully) it showed Dan Snyder you get all kinds of goodies and suprprises when it comes to the draft. You could possibly get more draft picks if some team wants to trade during your pick, and when you trade your picks away for a veteran, you are not only trading away your future, but you are paying ALOT more for someone to come in and be a RIGHT now player rather than let young guys grow and make plays. I hope we continue to try and trade our 1st round draft picks and pick up more draft picks and then we have more chances of picking up players from the drat like we did. I love the redskins and im so glad we are finally going the right way, instead of being a jumbled mess, we are finally starting to be a smart organization and if we dont win this year, we keep building, and building through the draft, then you will have a young, very talented team from a long time to come. |
