Re: London Fletcher: 2008 Defensive MVP Canidate
I'd hate to see what our D would be like without Fletcher.
Gotta give some props to H.B. Blades too, filling in for Marcus Washington. |

Absolutely, that's the second big last minute start for Blades.

Re: London Fletcher: 2008 Defensive MVP Canidate
I remember about four or five years ago ESPN sportscenter did a tv interview with Takeo Spikes when he and Fletch played together in Buffalo. They asked him about his career and what he attributed his success to. It seems all he could talk about was London Fletcher. TKO said that he wouldn't be anything if it weren't for Fletch and that basically he was the best player that people didn't know about.
The Pro Bowl has become the running joke of the league. Most football fans watch a quarter of these games and then turn it off. It's really no different from the Emmy's or Oscar's in that great unsung talent gets snubbed all the time. With all that in consideration, I hope that Fletch does get the nod this year simply for the fact that he's earned the overdue accolades and I know it's a personal goal of his.

Blades is going to be a very nice player for us. Let's give Vinny some props for getting this guy in the later rounds last year. But Fletcher was just all over the field hounding Westbrook. He gets my vote.

I like Greg Williams because he's responsible for London Fletcher being a Redskin. But I never wanted Williams to become the head coach. Besides, Blatche is doing a better job than Williams did with basically the same personnel.

Re: London Fletcher: 2008 Defensive MVP Canidate
I was in support of bringing Fletch here because his signing epitomizes what free agency can do for a team. We needed a defensive leader and a middle linebacker after 2006, and Fletcher has filled both holes for us. He's also been a very good player throughout his career.
He was also 32 when he got here, and for a linebacker, that's on the back end of his prime.

I do not remember what my feelings were for him coming here. Which probably means I am blocking that I was a neg on the idea.
MAN..........what a pickup!! Not only does he do it all. HE TEACHES it all to our young guys

Re: London Fletcher: 2008 Defensive MVP Canidate
I was a big fan of the move to bring Fletcher here and he's really paid off. My only wish is that we got him 5 years ago. He's been a lot of fun to watch.

Re: London Fletcher: 2008 Defensive MVP Canidate
London Fletcher is probly the smartest defensive player in the league thats why as he gets older his production stays the same. Brilliant to bring him over, And to think I was sad when Pierce left.

Re: London Fletcher: 2008 Defensive MVP Canidate
As far as being Defensive MVP I'll say this, he is the LAST player on defense we could afford to go down. I think LF going out would have the most dramatic effect on our defense than anyone. In my mind, at this point, he is irreplaceable.
