I didn't see Lorenzen on the Gints roster.
Couch didn't have the opportunity to go to GB spring practice because he was still a Brown! They don't look kindly on practicing for another team. I can't get a read on that guy though. He's loaded with talent. Is he another Jeff George or has a few years of being the "savior" of a crappy team in Cleveland destroyed him? Maybe he's another Tommy Maddux and needs a few pressure free seasons to get himself back together. |

Couch stinks, he'll never live up to his hype coming out of school. He played in an offense in college that inflated his numbers and his expectations. That being said he's still decent enough to be a backup somewhere. And who knows, he could be a late bloomer. After all, who would have guessed Rich Gannon would have turned his career around like he did?

I was watching the NFL Network with the Jaguars training camp. There were several observations I noticed about a lot of veteran players who have not matured mentally on and off of the field. Hugh Douglas stood out as one of the most childish acting people I've ever seen in a uniform. His stupid jokes directed at DL coach Ray Hamilton was embarrassing. The younger players just laughed to save face, but the Jaguars got the last laugh. The last episode of the show explains the cut process and how the head coach along with his assistant coaches decide who will be cut. Coach Del Rio asked the question, What has Hugh Douglas done for us? What are we paying him for? There was silence. Ray Hamilton tried to plead Douglas's case but the obvious was there. Douglas's skills had deminished and he didn't have a sack thoughout the preseason. Hugh was so mad and embarrassed by his release that he didn't even clear his locker. This brings home a very serious point. Your name is as good as the last game you played in. When you're not producing results, you will be cut. Douglas was lucky to be picked up by the Eagles.

I can't see Mitchell coming back. I think they have a competent backup for Morton as a returner in Thrash, and a 3rd down back in Betts.

Mabye it wouldnt be a bad idea to bring in Gildion since barrow is hurt. Yea hes a OLB but mabye since hes getting older he could play middle for us. Hes a great player, and would be a great teacher to some of our young linebackers. I think he would be great depth.
Look at carolina, they had(until armstead got hurt) jessie armsted and brandon short as their BACKUP linebackers. Those are some solid players to know you can have step in if you need to

Skins fan 44,
Looks like he was released by the Browns in early June. They were trying to work a trade but GB just waited for them to have to release him. There is something about this guys talent that is really intriguing. I know he came from KU but remember, he alone brought that program back ala Eli Manning. Now, I'm NOT SAYING he's Eli Manning but maybe he turns out to be a Trent Green or Tommy Maddox, a late bloomer who needs the right situation. |
