Re: Spagnuolo!!
He took over a 9-7 team that went to the playoffs. He is 1-5 in the last six games. Our team looks like a high school team. Penelties and play calling that has resembled Spurrier. I think Zorn should never have been hired in the first place. I hope wether they fire him or not it works out, but I am skeptical that he is the right coach.

Now, obviously, having the best weapon in the NFL makes him look a lot smarter, but he knows what he's doing, I think.

GTripp:
Methinks you overestimate some of the Skins' players. Can any of the Skins' DTs really get any playing time on the Giants? Not without injuries... Both DEs on the Giants - - Kiawanuka and Tuck - - are better than any/all of the DEs on the Skins. Hell, the Giants DL is good enough to make Philip Daniel look good - - and we know that didn't happen here. At LB, it is a wash in the middle; both teams are strong there. But Blades and Rocky wouldn't start for the Giants on the outside. Not even close. I think Spagnuolo is a very good DC - - better than Greg Blache and better than Gregg Williams and the equal of Jim Johnson in Philly - - AND he has superior talent to the Skins on the defensive side of the ball. Ergo: Giants win the AFC East this year after a Super Bowl last year and Skins now need a miracle to sneak into the playoffs.

The same goes for the way we "win" our games. This year we had all these wins by just a few points, and everyone was fine and dandy while this was going on, yet very few were concerned about the struggles and the games that were won on the last drive, on an opponent's missed field goal or an opponents failed last drive.

Re: Spagnuolo!!
Mr. Zorn,
Please execute your head out of your ass at a medium pace. I have seen hillbilly high school coaches call better games than you. Swallow your pride, coach. If you're fortunate enough to keep your job with the Redskins next year, step down as play caller and find yourself a coordinator- preferably one that sits up in the booth and can see the field, doesn't run on every first and second down, and is well versed in the Gibbs-Holmgren-neo-funk-west-coast-hybrid-offense. Oh, and challenge yourself. See if you and your new assistant can scheme up some crazy package that involves two rookies being on the field simultaneously. Good luck, Loyal Fan

Then it just comes down to Tuck vs. Taylor, which is no contest. I agree that the Giants OLBs are much better.

Re: Spagnuolo!!
While I know that Zorn has kinda screwed the pooch this season (and I have said some bad things about him) for some reason I am still not totally opposed to having him for a second year. There definitely needs to be changes, but I still think Zorn deserves another shot. Oh, and I do not want that washed up piece of shit, Jim Fassel in Washington. Remember how well he did act offensive coordinator for the Ravens? When you look at it, he had two good years in New York, that's it.

I never understood the deep-rooted hatred for Jim Fassel. This was a guy who had a winning record against each of his NFC East opponents and guided his team to the Super Bowl. He accomplished way more than any coach in Washington has done since 1991, that's for sure. When you look at the people who have had second chances at being head coach (Dave Wanstedt, Norv Turner, Art Shell) it's mystifying as to why Fassel hasn't had a second shot. |

Re: Spagnuolo!!
Spagnola has talent on his team. They have great management and a great game plan.
Belicheck, Noll, Lombardi, Landry, and Bill Parcells could all coach our team at the same time and not get much more out of them. It starts at the top. |
