Re: Official Lost Season 5 Thread (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
I think so...i guess the whole "you can't do it if it nevers happens" deal applies there. I hope they explore that notion and explain it well because it make no sense to me. Based on that notion, which Farraday was clear on, how in the heck was he able to talk to Desmond? It never happened so it couldn't. But it did then happen. Farraday must be from a different time or something so the rules on the island don't apply to him in the same fashion. My head hurts now. Anyways, what happens to Sawyer if Desmond answers the door? Or can it simply "NOT HAPPEN"? Like the universe will not allow it? Even though Desmond heard Sawyer banging on the door did the universe prevent Desmond from answering it? WTF?

It seems like some people, like Desmond, Farrady, the old woman, and possibly Richard Alpert are sort of immune to the effects of time skipping.

Re: Official Lost Season 5 Thread (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
I don't think so. Faraday didn't really care about getting into the hatch until he saw Lewis's nose bleeding, which is the first symptom of whatever disease killed Fisher Stevens (I forget his name on the show - Mac?). After that, he looked up something in his journal, and then decided to get into the hatch.

Re: Official Lost Season 5 Thread (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
Good point. Maybe Faraday forgot about the "Desmond is your constant" page in his journal. Unlikely, though, since he's supposed to be wicked smaht. Maybe you're right, though, that he didn't want Sawyer to know that Desmond is special.

Anyone else think of Jeff Bridges' character, Michael Faraday, in Arlington Road everytime they hear Faraday?

Re: Official Lost Season 5 Thread (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
Kinda surprised no one has posted about tonight's show yet.
It wasn't one of the better episodes- sort of one of those "set up" shows- as in next week is set up to be a lot more exciting than tonight. Interesting that Widmore funded for Faraday's time travel research for 10 years. By Locke's mention of Jacob and Alpert's reaction, I guess Jacob has been a factor for a long time.

Dude we finally got a clue to how Widmore is connected to this deal. That was big in my mind.

Another interesting piece was when Alpert told Locke "we specifically choose our leaders at a young age," and Locke immediately gives him his birthdate (2 years after that conversation). Remember a few seasons ago when Alpert shows up at Locke's house when he's a young kid...

Re: Official Lost Season 5 Thread (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
I need a quick recap of what's happened so far this season.
Let me just tell you all, the most difficult adjustment to married life is trying to watch Lost. Holy crap! Last night, during Lost my wife is freaking washing dishes and vaccuming (sp?), which she never does. And last week I had to take her out to dinner for the first hour because she was feeling down.

Anyone else catch the name that The Others called the little blonde chick with the rifle? They called her "Ellie" .... as in Eloise. As in, I bet that's a younger version of Faraday's mother/the woman who Ben met with at the end of last weeks episode. Also, Faraday said that they needed to bury the bomb in concrete to make it safe. So, could that be wants on the other side of the concrete wall back in the hatch in season 2? Maybe the incident that the guy in the orientation video was talking about was the bomb going off, but the force was contained so long as some of the pressure could be released every 108 minutes. Seriously, I think I could watch that one 10 more times today.

Great catch with the Ellie/Eloise = young Faraday's mother. I probably could have watched that episode a few times without picking up on that one. Cool link to the whole number sequence / 108 minutes, etc: The Numbers - Lostpedia
