Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo

I found the controls to be much worse than RE4. Didn't mind the controls at all for RE4, but for RE5 I just can't get over how bad they are. Totally ruins the game for me.

Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo

Really? Huh. I didn't find the controls much different from RE4 & didn't happen to mind them at all. It sucks that you can't run & shoot at the same time, but that's not really all that different from the rest of them. I don't know, maybe I'm just such a fan of the series that their shortcomings simply don't matter to me. All the good things about the game make up for the things they didn't do right...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo

The controls are the same, but just more stiff. I dunno, just can't explain it. Maybe I've just become so used to playing games like COD4 and those type of controls that I can't get used to RE again.

^ I am pretty sure that if I remeber correctly from the demo you can switch controls. you can choose either traditional RE controls or more first person type control, is this not possible?

AGAIN??? Wow. Happen twice to me. From what I have heard and I have done this too with excellant results is don't plug it into a power strip just stright into the wall, the huge transform it comes with has a surge protector built into it.

Are you paying anything out of pocket for repairs?

2nd time for me too. I'm still under warranty, they protect you now for 3 years with the red ring of death.

I've always plugged it straight into a wall outlet.

Geez I don't know maybe it is just a POS.

My current has been going strong for over a year, knock on wood, of course I have not played it much this year.

Also do you know you can download a game to your hard drive now and play off the hard drive. This should help as well and it is much quieter and quicker start up times.

You do need some patience with popular new releases. You might have to wait a good 3-4 weeks before the availability is there. The good thing though is they tell what games have high availability, medium, or low. If a game on your list isn't available they just send the next one.

Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo

Wow, it sounds like you guys have had some serious troubles with your XBOX's. Sorry to hear that fellas (or ladies, if there are any in here discussing this). I have my XBOX on sometimes longer then 24 hours at a time & no troubles whatsoever with mine. It is my "everything" box. I play music & movies on it all the time too.

One of my best friends keeps trying to get me into the PS3. I used to be a PS guy, but it got so expensive that XBOX360 was the better way for me. Still can't afford the PS at this point. The cheapest I've seen it is still around $400. That's insane. I paid $200 for my XBOX360 over a year ago & I have absolutely no complaints.

Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo

Give it some time. I don't know anyone that hasn't had a problem at some point.

Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo

Actually, I have a group of friends that get down with some XBOX360 & only a few of them have had issues. My understanding has been that the majority of the problems were with "first gens" & that MOST of the bugs since then have been worked out. Would I be wrong? Here's to aimlessly hoping, anyway.

Later models don't have the problems Matty and I are expereince. I was one of the first to get an Xbox in 2005 (?). I think there is just a revolving door with the early models that is why they fix them for free. Mine breaks they fix it, Matty's breaks they send him my repaired broken one, you get a diffrent xbox each time they don't give you back your exact one, so the cycle just keeps going round and round. UPS probably made some awesome money off this "ring of death".

Re: Resident Evil 5 Demo

Mine is a later model though. My first one broke and I went out and bought a new one 15 months ago. I had the first one repaired and when I got it back I sold it to a friend. I have a couple other friends who have newer models who have had the red ring of death too.
