Obviously, they are bitter about Williams in Buffalo. So they take a dig. But it's a fair comment: the starting Buc offense didn't score a TD in preseason, and the were missing Galloway and Pittman. However, I am confident Williams will have a great D here. The problems in Buffalo were with the offense, not the D. They were ranked #2. I'm willing to guess that folks up there would love to have Williams as a coordinator.

We will be tested this year, and sometimes beaten, by good offenses that pick up the blitz or use misdirection/screens/dump-offs well. But we will also win games on sacks and turnovers. I doubt we'll crush a team as badly as we did Sunday, but this will be a high-ranked D. It's way to early to talk sh** about them,, even if your "bitter in Buffalo."

These Buffalo a-holes are just soar grapes because they lost the Jags. We beat a team (Buc's) that won the superbowl a few years ago. They lost to a very average team.
Jerry Sullivan did say one thing right in his article....Tom Brady is the playing like the real MVP of this league. If Brady continues his high level of play this year, he better get the MVP award or something is seriously wrong.

Granted it was preseason, but I think so far in 2004 I think our starting D has only given up 1 TD. Tampa Bay scored 0 points on our defesne. That feild goal was a result of special teams, cause they didnt even get a first down. Look at what our starting D did to Atlanta. I hate to use preseason games in my argument, but I really have nothing else. I dont care who we play, the difference between our Defense last year and this year is night and day.

Ya. I didn't know that Gruden's offense wasn't a *real* offense.

Low Blow.

I agree with bridaman and cpayne, Gruden wins a SB and is hailed as an offensive guru and now his team struggles and it's "Tampa's offense is horrid". Give the respect where it's due, to our defense. Our guys made plays, and more importantly our defensive coordinator put them in position to make plays.

It's only one game, but so far the defense looks to be legit. Tons of pressure, guys coming free, forced fumbles, picks, it was a great night for the defense. The first of many, we all hope.

All true. BUTtake a look at the film - (as was pointed out by a TBay player) our safeties were playing where our LB's normally are. There was no stretch to this offense. Tampa's offense was horrid. That's why a GOOD defense crunched them.

Good point Smootsmack. So true..

Talking How impressed do you have to be?

Don't you all believe we would have narrowly lost the TB game without Williams? Remember that sick-in-your-gut feeling you used to get in the Norv-Marty-Spurrier era when the momentum would shift to the other team in the 2nd half, even though we had a 3 point lead, we couldn't get the mo back? Abandon the running game . . . fall into prevent defense . . . lose confidence in the game plan (which wasn't all that great to begin with).

Buffalo's still feeling the hurt of SB XXVI, where they gained 43 yards on the ground and got picked 4 times. Yes, we're not back to that level yet, but give us a little time to work out the kinks and get Sean Taylor up to speed.

Too bad we play another hurting team this week. I guess we'll prove nothing by winning that one either.

Low blow. Lets not forget he did not get a fair shake in Buffalo. They took a injured running back with the number 1 pick who they knew he was not going to contribute. They don't exactly spend money up there. And shall we cast our own low blow.
If I remember correctly Travis Henry had a big year for Buffalo, even though he fumbled more than people would like, so McGahee being hurt isn't a real point.

They didn't spend money? They have Eric Moulds (one of the top 10 receivers in the league most of the time), Drew Bledsoe (old but still a rocket), and Travis Henry (Few fumbles, but solid player) as the core of the offense. Plagued with a fairly weak O line, but still a great group of guys. Let's look at defense.

Not many D coordinators or D minded head coaches would shy away from a defense with players such as Takeo Spikes, Londoln Fletcher, and Antoine Winfield. That Bills team had talent, especially on defense, and he had a miserable head coaching career with them. I have the utmost confidence that he can learn from his mistakes and come back when Gibbs goes back out of coaching in 5 years.

So what people are saying the Redskins should lower their play to the level of their competition...?????????

Or is it sour grapes for Buffalo for letting Williams go..............

They let there best reciever go (Pierless Price) They drafted a injured running back when they had a very good one. They should have been drafting defense or olineman. My point was why draft a running back when you can get a all pro at another position. Wasted pick who wasn't going to play will not help Greg Williams.

Moulds is not one of the top 10. If so name the 9 others.

Daseal you are a wealth of information though.
