If I go see the new Terminator I have this fear I'm going to trash someone's f-ing lights.

Re: New Movies

GI Joe baby, the greatest cartoon and toy of all time.

You know what I'm hoping though? That these 80's cartoon remakes like Transformers, Joe, and Thundercats are so successful that the movie studios do the same thing they did after X-men became a hit and pursue other lesser 80’s properties. If you remember, after Xmen’s success spawned the obligatory Spiderman and Batman movies, every superhero in the canon, no matter how minor, had to get his own feature. It was thus that we ended up with movies like Daredevil and Ghost Rider.

Well, I for one think the world would be a better place with Mask, Captain Planet, and Gobots movies. What about Captain Caveman starring Mickey Rourke or Johnny Quest with Dicaprio? George Lucas dusting off his ewok suits to make the ultimate Carebears epic? Darren Aronofsky re-imagining Fraggle Rock as a world of great violence, or Tarantino teaching us about the “original” ghostbusters (one of whom was a monkey)? So let’s hope it happens!

There is a Tarantino movie coming out with Brad Pit called Inglorious Bastards. I think I'd rather see James Bond playing the Jewish resistence guy in Eastern Europe. I forgot what that ones called?

I liked Taken. It had a good steady pace and Liam played a cool, aging gov't spy who didn't give a crap what it took to find his daughter.

Re: New Movies

I am counting down the days for Watchmen. I read the graphic novel by Alan Moore and I am a big fan his work.

Also, I love Jackman as Wolverine, I am hoping that this movie kicks total ass because that is how Wolverine is, a good guy under the rough exterior, but just don't piss him off. So from the clips it shows a lot of promise.

Re: New Movies

I think that our generation got a hold of Hollywood and has begun the undoing of all of titles of our childhood that were wronged by the industry with bad portrayals. In fact yesterday I saw the preview for Street Fighter and it looked a hell of a lot better than the knock off featuring Van Damme a while back.

On second thought I saw some in depth clips of it on youtube and it looks pretty terrible. It is not a cheesy as the first but you can tell that it is low budget.

GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Star Trek: Prequel

Terminator: Salvation

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

I want to see Wolverine the most. What sayeth the mob?

Trample - saw Terminator Salvation today and thought it was ok - it was much better than Terminator 3 but not as good as the first two. Unless you a die hard Terminator fan this one could be one of those wait till it comes out on video type films.

Now see, I'm a Friday the 13th enthusiast...I actually own them all. Personally, I loved it. It's basically a remake of the first 3 movies, leaving it open for all of the "Tommy" episodes to be 1 movie. Although, I still think they would have to split those because of the time distance between 4 & 5, but if they do it right, they might be able to pull it off. It made more sense tho, with all the underground tunnels & alarm systems he had set up. Although, I'm not convinced that was all him, but also partly his mother. I loved it...but that's just me, I guess. My brother wasn't too fond of it either.

I couldn't agree more. The problem is, we have run out of ideas, everything has already been done. At least, as far as the MPAA will allow.

Eventually, there will be a re-make of this thread. They'll call it "New Movies: Revisited" & it will star look-a-likes of everyone except Angry. They'll call him Happy.
