If I only had a magic ball......

BIG AL has been in a class of his own when healthy the last several years. I have no reason to see any drop off in production. I think he will be a monster for us. Based on his prior work and new contract, a new reason to prove the nay sayers!

Not sure I see any reason to compare him to Stubby..? That was then this is now.

EE, Gardener played very well in the one season he was here. He wanted a big deal to stay and we chose to let him walk, and it was the right move.

He 's closer to Reggie White than Stubblefield. This is the best free agent aquisition since Wilbur Marshall was aquired from the Bears and we won the Superbowl in 87.

Stubblefield was on the juice right? He was part of the BALCO scandal. I think Albert is just naturally a monster!

Exactly, that the main difference if we would've known Stubblefeild was on the juice we wouldn't have given him that ridiculous contract. AH production the last 2 years were purely hard work and effort, sometimes it takes players a few years to pick up the speed of the game. Only time will tell whether he's worth the 100 million

Being on juice doesn't make you a good football player. And it certainly didn't help Stubby.

I strongly disagree kind of. It certainly does'nt help with the mental part of the game which Stubblefield possessed. But It definatly helps when it comes to the physical aspect of the game. Lets just say I know from experience. Oh ah, It helps in Baseball too

Well maybe I know from experience too. Steriods help you get stronger only if you're eating right, training hard, getting enough rest and taking the right dosages. It didn't look like Stubby was doing any of that. He was fat and out of shape. He was probably injecting himself and not working out which made him look all bloated. If he was doing it the correct way he would've gotten rid of some of his bodyfat before he ran a cycle. If he was doing all that plus had a good skill set then it would've given him an advantage.

We could debate this but its not worth the argument. Plus its the wrong forum. But if you think you need to look in shape when using Roids then read this Sumo: Tainted sumo weighs up its future - Times Online

Here is a clip from the article:
Leading sumo wrestlers are giants, who depend on a combination of power and speed to reach the highest levels, but fears that they have been taking dietary supplements and steroids are so widespread that the issue has been raised in the Japanese parliament

Another thing people always seem to forget is that steroids boost your confidence. Now some might say the fear of getting caught balances it out and can possibly force players to hold back, but when A-Rod was hitting 20 extra home runs a year from 2001-2003 and Barry ever since he left Pitsburgh, well needless to say everytime they stepped up to the plate there was little doubt that they could know virtually any decent pitch out of the park and that probably had more of an effect then most people will give credit for.

Either way it looks like Stubblefield, based on his numbers, might have juiced his first two years in the league. Then took about 2 years off. Then in 1997 when he realized how much better he was on steroids he decided that if there was ever a time to use it was during his contract year. Still though 15 sacks for a DT is insane.

It kills me when everyone talks about he has his money , now he's just going to lay down. The man said his uncle is a diehard Redskins fan, and his family lives in the area,So I don't see him embarrising himself as well as his family, also in the NBA contracts are guaranteed, and those player's don't mail it in..So give the guy a chance he sounds like someone that's genuine ,he didn't sound rehearsed (like an Arod presser) So no I don't think he'll be the next Stubblefield.

Re: Another Haynesworth Thread: Will AH Be The Next Dana Stubblefield?

about Gardener: We didnt throw the money at him and I believe he was out of the league within a couple of years of his stint with washington... am I mistaken? What if we would have given him the contract he wanted?

Not that he sucked when he was here, but I was just thinking about high priced D linemen that got paid and disappeared off the face of the planet. I could probably think of other examples but my brain is fried.
