Re: TJ Housh to Seattle

If a player agrees to a contract but has not signed it yet.....can he change his mind and go elsewhere? I guess the verbal contract is binding right? Just wondering if Snyder could woo him through the night. LOL.

Maybe in a court of law, not in the NFL. A John Hancock is required for oral contracts to be binding. I believe LaVar had an oral contract for 6.5 million he never saw.

That is a good pick up for the Seattle Seahawks

That is an understatement. Seattle hasn't had a top notch wide receiver...well, I don't recall the last time...maybe Largent??? You have had some good ones over the years...but even the "good ones" had the dropsies and were not reliable despite putting up decent numbers. This was a solid need that has been addressed for the Seahawks.

^They need WR's bad and I don't mean just one either. Definitly a good pick up.

He's going after the money, but I think he just wanted out of a dysfunctional team like the Bengals. Sure seattle isn't a winner anymore, but they have a decent front office.

it's not the money most likely. i think the nation blog pointed out that seattle is the closest city to LA (his home) - only a 6 hour flight instead of 8 (MINN) or 10 (CINN).

if he's taking that flight twice a week for the entire season...

I just don't see that as a valid option. What is the difference in 2 hours worth of flight to a guy that pretty much should have his own plane since he flys so much (who knows, he might already have one). I completely get wanting to get out of Cincy though...who would want to go there??
Not that it really matters...I'm sure he is elated to be in Seattle.

players make a lot of money, but they aren't that rich.

and 2 hours x2 every week from offseason workouts through game 16 is a lot of hours, with the money being equal.

I wonder if this means they're going to forget Crabtree?

I think that's the biggest piece in all of this, how the draft is affected.
