Re: Chris Wilson could get shot at OLB
It can't hurt...long as they figure out before September if it's a mistake.

no matter whom we had cover witten; be it MW, lemar marshall, etc. after 15 yards none of our olbs could cover the guy so why not give wilson a chance. witten is going to get his catches going man against any one of our olbs anyway. go skins!!

Just kidding, I actually like the idea of using him as an end. God knows he's not going to get much time at DT.

Re: Chris Wilson could get shot at OLB
Wilson did play some LB in college and/or the CFL I believe. He doesn't have a lot of pass rush moves as a DE. I would think he's lacking the agility to cover on the strongside. Only time will tell. The re-signing of Wynn, Daniels, and LB Robert Thomas all point to a much needed stud drafted in the first or second round. Unless the team is secretly planning to switch to the 3-4 with Haynesworth at NT, Golston and Montgomery at DE, and Carter and Wilson at OLB and McIntosh and Fletcher at ILB or some combination of the sort...

Re: Chris Wilson could get shot at OLB
Marcus, even w/ his age, would be better than Thomas or Wilson @ LB. Should have bumped him up just a bit from vet min IMO...but oh well.

Re: Chris Wilson could get shot at OLB
While there is no guarantee this will succeed - I do like the idea of gettting your best 11 athletes on the field at the same time. I am glad to see a little out of the box experimentation...as long as the best defense as a unit hits the field 13 September.
Dream on - Who knows, maybe Wilson is a good enough player the coaches have to find a place to play him.....we would have (/shudder) developed our own talent through the draft (Gasp!) It goes beyond reason to hope Wilson pans out at SAM and Buzbee is a surpize at DE on third down. - Dream off. **My name is Kope, and I am an offseason optomist** **(Chorus of voices) "Hi Kope"** |

Re: Chris Wilson could get shot at OLB
Alexander as LB? I have hard time imagining that..
As much as I hate to admit it; it appears as if Redskins are preparing as if they are not going to draft a LB (immediately starter, in that case).. If we are not going to draft an offense T and LB, ironically enough, which are our most pressing needs; I guess we can expect FO to draft Sanchez or a DE  |

If Wilson and Alexander are in the line-up and an offenses lines up with the stong side opposite Carter it would essentially put us into something 3-4ish, where Carter would be 3-4 Rush LOLB then the Griffin/Monty would be the LDE Haynesworth the NT Alexander the RDE and Wilson the ROLB. I like the idea, it get Wilsons much needed playing time and it puts Alexander in a postion to play the be the run stopping LDE that Blache's system calls for. I guess that Alexander would come out on 3rd down and Wilson would shift to DE. |

He's a waste as a DE IMO. He'd be a slow DT playing on the edge where he'd likely generate little to know pass rush. And now that we're stacked at DT, there's no point to having him play there. Move him back to guard and give him a shot. He can't be any worse than Gesinger. |
