Re: B.J. Raji Fails Drug Test at the Combine
Exactly... and who here wouldn't have liked to see him in DC?

Re: B.J. Raji Fails Drug Test at the Combine
Actually...I changed my mind. If Raji falls i want him. More than Oher. More than Rey. We draft him and work like hell to trade up to the 2nd rd (put Kedric or Monty on the the trade block too) to get ourselves Mack or the best OL available. Good shit man...good shit.

I'd take him if he fell to us.

Re: B.J. Raji Fails Drug Test at the Combine
I'd take him in a second. Plenty of very good players have failed drug tests at the combine. Most of those records are confidential, but sometimes they get leaked.
Remember the Calvin Johnson, Gaines Adams and Okoye year where they admitted, after sources leaked, that they had done pot? All three of those guys are doing well, two are doing extremely well. If he drops to us at 13, I'd take him. I HATE taking Dline -- they have a super high bust rate. But put this kid next to AH and we have a special tandem.

Re: B.J. Raji Fails Drug Test at the Combine
DTs are definitely better than DEs, but both are pretty sucky

Re: B.J. Raji Fails Drug Test at the Combine
If we had Raji paired with Big Al, our interior D-line would equal that of the Williams boys in Minnesota, maybe better.
But man, we really need O-line help. I doubt his will drop his stock enough for him to be there at 13 anyway.

Re: B.J. Raji Fails Drug Test at the Combine
I agree but it would be killer if we got so lucky. My gut is Cinci takes an OT @ 6 so Levi Jones will be there. Grab him on the cheap since most teams will have filled their OT needs.

Re: B.J. Raji Fails Drug Test at the Combine
True story, when I was in the sixth grade I wrote Norv a letter saying I think it would be a good idea to draft Sapp.
There was a typed letter back that he signed. It was in blue ink too, and pretty sure it was real. I wonder if I still have that letter.

Re: B.J. Raji Fails Drug Test at the Combine
I never thought Terrell Suggs would drop to Baltimore, either. The draft is a crazy beast sometimes.

Re: B.J. Raji Fails Drug Test at the Combine
According to NFLDraftBible.com (and not us), USC linebackers Brian Cushing and Clay Matthews tested positive for steroids at the Combine.

Re: B.J. Raji Fails Drug Test at the Combine
Assuming Maualuga is gone by #13 but Raji and Andre Smith are available, who do you go with? Tough decision, but I would go with Smith because he can solidify the RT position and make the offense much better. Raji looks great, but with Haynesworth, Griffin, Montgomery, and Golsten, we already have solid depth at the DT position.

"Recently worked out poorly for scouts running a pair of forty’s in the 4.8 range and completing 19 repetitions on the bench. Working out again on April 18th. Weighed in around the 260-pound mark in the postseason, though his playing weight may be a little less." But man, that 2003 draft was either boom or bust. It's like you walk away with a pro-bowler/potential hall of famer or a guy who finds himself out of the league in a few years.
