re: Will Brian Orakpo = the next Vernon Gholston
Is this to mean Orakpo will probably not do very well as a rookie? Then, yes, he will probably be the next Vernon Gholston, who in turn still has a year (at least) to be the next Mario Williams. Rookies that make an immediate impact are pretty rare, especially those that aren't running backs. Should Gholston have made more than 13 tackles in his rookie season? Definitely, but he hasn't been cut by the Jets...yet.

re: Will Brian Orakpo = the next Vernon Gholston
Gholston did so poorly because of the system that he played in. And with Orakpo playing next to Haynesworth, he is bound to have a nice rookie campaign. Haynesworth makes everyone around him good. Everyone will be trying to double team him, leaving Orakpo and Carter on islands. Don't worry about Orakpo, he's a beast!

The thread title may be a bit off, but speculating on the chances of Orakpo being a bust isn't out of bounds. IMO anyway.

He is an animal. He will be a beast right from the start. Did you see his box faced jaw, like a pit bull. He is a genetic freak and will have 10 sacks or better this year.

Re: Will Brian Orakpo = the next Vernon Gholston
it will not happen because he is playing besides Albert. look at the titans draft last year, they got I think 2 DE from the draft in the middle rounds, and let them play alongside albert. now put rak there with albert, it would be scary.

Re: Will Brian Orakpo = the next Vernon Gholston
I don't think so, I think that would be maybin if anyns gonna be gholston plus gholston played well in the 4-3 at Ohio state, and awful in the 3-4 so he's not a bust yet
