Even with this coming up draft i don't think that we can address the line like we should, it will take 2-3 years IMO. If you ask me we need to replace everybody but Dock. Plus you have other positions you need to address LB (Keep Rak at DE he struggles in coverage), RB (Portis replacement), CB (If you don't sign Rogers back you can't depend on Smoot, Westbrook, Tryon or Barnes to start the season next year), S (I think you need to permanently move Landry back to SS he plays better there leaving a hole at FS). Now i do understand that FA will play a role in this but realistically all this areas will not be fixed in 1 draft or free agency. So i believe that if you choose Bradford you have to play him immediately nowadays he would be getting paid to much not too. The line will still be suspect and i don't think he has the toughness to take poundings with a rebuilding franchise. Plus San Diego had a o-line and Brees took shots but not like JC is on 3 step drops. We won't be superbowl contenders moreless NFC East Champs next year it will take some time. Bradford needs a stable organization to protect him somewhere like Jacksonville.

Exactly, I mean lets face it. Bradford is going to be the Redskins QB of the future. We will draft offensive lineman, theres no need to worry about that. Remember Vinny isn't in charge anymore so the O-Line will no longer be overlooked. With that said I wonder what the Rams will do.

By the way Smoot, what do you know about Clausen being selected near the top of the draft. Right now he seems to be graded as a late first round pick by Scouts Inc.

Assuming the Rams pick first, I think they'll face a tough decision but I can see them doing something similar to what the Dolphins did two years ago. Get a lineman (in this case a defensive lineman) in the first round and then a QB at the top of the 2nd. I could see a Suh-McCoy combo for the Rams

And if the Rams don't take Clausen, I think he'll go anywhere between 4th and 9th. I think even if he's there when we pick we won't take him though

Yeah lets keep Campbell, I love watching skins games where he doesnt even attempt to throw the ball over ten yards.

Well you all can count Clausen out for the Skins.

He doesn't have D.Rosenhause.

I know I know it's PFT, but....

Keep an eye on Redskins and Sam Bradford | ProFootballTalk.com

Some of you should get excited. I found the part about Bradford's doctor working for the Skins very interesting.

The Andrews' news has been talked about here before. And if there's one thing we learned so far through this whole Shanahan search is that he likes everything "very interested in the Bills job" "very interested in the Bears job" "Very interested in the Gators job" etc. Not to say that he doesn't like Bradford, and it does make a lot of sense. Just saying let's not read too much into it right now

Someone has to play here until a player like Bradford is NFL ready, no one has any idea how long that will be. I'm not in favor of continuing to draft these QB's early in the first round searching for that aloof (franchise QB). This team has far too many holes to fill without a maximum draft, if we don't address the O-line significantly in the draft we had better raise hell in free agency.

Re: Sam Bradford remains projected pick to Redskins

You know, f' it. Let's go ahead and draft a QB stick him behind this line and watch 30+ million in guaranteed money go down the tube in a hand basket because we get him killed before he even learns how to play in the NFL. I'm all for it and hey at that rate we will get to see JC behind the same line and taking the same punishment all over again!

If you cannot sense the sarcasm I do not know how much more blatant I can put it.

Placing a high profile QB behind this line is like parking a Ferrari in the middle of a highway. It is a stupid decision. Buy your Ferrari a garage first! Don’t worry, Ferrari will make a newer model next year you do not have to buy one right now.

What about the Colt? No one talks about him anymore.

The question is strictly for the cult following, not thread worthy.

Thank you, can't go wrong with building the O-line, its not like there aren't stud
qb's available later in the draft

Re: Sam Bradford remains projected pick to Redskins

I will be completely pissed if we draft Bradford!! The guy can't stay healthy and there is no comparison to him and Brees. Brees had a torn Labrum, which is an easy repair with surgery, Bradford's injury is just one hard hit away from putting him on the IR. Claussen looks like the most NFL ready QB that I've seen this year, especially if you want to take one with the first pick. I say if he isn't there when we pick, we trade our #1 for more picks and take a QB in the 2nd or 3rd.

I agree with you on considering CJ Spiller. He is going to be an immediate impact player (not only does he run a 4.3 but he is also a good blocker). The two areas that need to be addressed on offensive BEFORE the QB is the line and running backs (and then we need to look at our secondary). We are using 3rd stringers in those positions right now and have no depth worth mentioning. If Okung is available we should take him, otherwise we take Spiller. At the very least we know that Campbell is OK and will put up OK numbers. I hope everyone agrees that whoever our QB is next year he will get a pounding, regardless of who we draft for the line... and before anyone starts screaming, "Aaron Rodgers has a bad line too!!" Our line is way worse than Green Bay's, we have NO running threat and to top everything off we have poor coaching. No one knows who is going to call what play. While Campbell sounded like a cryer when he said it wasn't fair, he's actually right.
