Re: 2010 Free Agents
Good work Warrior, I've been trying to find a list comparable to this.

Re: 2010 Free Agents
No FA QBs unless we keep JC around. The others are a bunch of bums minus Orton, but I am not sure we should even go for him. Draft some of the young talent coming up in the 2010 draft. Lefevour, Sheehan, Elliot, Stull, Pike, Kafka, and a host of others are in the draft in 2010 take one of them. Shoot take 2 if some fall to the mid or lower rounds. Any FA signings should be linemen or DBs in my mind

Re: 2010 Free Agents
I guarantee you that Snyder and Allen will bring in at least 2 FA offensive lineman, because there aren't any good FA QB's, and there are a good amount of QB's and OLineman in the draft, the Skins will get some veteran OLineman in FA, then Draft a QB (Bradford) first overall and then get more young OLineman in the draft. Expect Chris Kuper the Guard from the Broncos and maybe a Tackle like Donald Penn/Marcus McNeil to be brought in here.

EXACTLY! and that's why you will see us drafting a QB in the first round. If this is an uncapped year or not I guarantee that we will be in the runnings for the top FA Lineman.. This will allow us to draft Bradford or Clausen

Re: 2010 Free Agents
Best thing about the Warpath, good people who bring a lot of intelligent posts. Thanks Warrior for this excellent post.
I haven't really thought much on FA/Draft, I want to believe that once we get the new FO/HC situation settled, we will see a new way of thinking and we will be happy with how they handle it. |

Re: 2010 Free Agents
Hey good post Redskinwarrior. The QB list is very weak but I would take a shot a Ravens backup Troy Smith out of Ohio St. He was started to play well when he got sick and the Ravens put in Joe Flacco and the rest is history. Troy is not very tall but he has nice feet and can throw the ball. He moves well in the pocket and can run if needed. He would be at the very least a good backup in the league. If JC is not tender a offer which I think the team will do to at least to get a draft pick then we will more than likely draft a QB in the 1st round.

Re: 2010 Free Agents

Re: 2010 Free Agents
I think this whole list means nothing without a cap. Everybody is a restricted free agent. They can negotiate with their respective teams and no one else. The pllayer that will come available are player like Clinton Portis, that are over payed. Not to say we will cut CP, but it would make sense. Players like Randy Thomas, that have huge cap numbers keeping their jobs will be cut. With that said maybe their will be some player that have something to offer us that will be released.

Re: 2010 Free Agents
If there is an uncapped year a player would need 6 seasons of NFL service time to be eligible to be an Unrestricted Free Agent as opposed to the 4 needed now. Plus teams would be given an extra transition tag and the top 8 playoff teams could only sign a FA to replace a lost player. There will actually be more restrictions on free agency in an uncapped year than there are now.
