Re: Landry for Rhodes?
A) Is Horton going to be our starter next year at FS or LaRon?
B) Is Rhodes a better FS than LL? C) If A & B are true, than lets trade Laron for him and a few picks D) It's prefectly fine if we don't do C) because we have LARGER needs at other positions, safety we have depth, especially at SS

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
Landry hasn't endeared himself to us, that's for sure. His lowlights have not been followed by highlights much the last couple years. He should be on the verge of maturing though, you'd have to if you keep seeing film of yourself getting burnt, committing dumb penalties, etc. So I would say no to such a trade unless they gave up more.
On the subject of safeties, I've noticed that a few here have said it is a position of need. I'm surprised at that. I think it's one of the deepeset positions on the team. I think Kareem Moore has looked good & will earn more pt next year, plus Horton & Doughty at SS. The rook Holmes might be able to stick around too. |

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
i agree. i'd like to see LL playing close to the line and blitzing more often.

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
like a 5th and/or a 7th...or just a 3rd...Laron has potential and is a former first rounder. Rhodes is a 4th rounder I believe, and his potential is pretty much reached

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
Laron is a natural SS. He's a beast and isn't afraid to plant his nose in a pulling guards chest. He makes too many mistakes in open space (bad angles and going for big hits) so limit the amount of space he plays in.

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
Who's played more like a 1st rounder? Where a player was drafted should not/does not have anything to do with their value once they've played for a few years. After that, they are what they are... Landry's about a 4th rd pick for all the big plays we've gotten out of him. And that's as a matador, 5th as a safety.

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
He is without a doubt much more effective closer to the line, but it just burns me to know that he had played FS in college, and isin't much better at it.

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
I'm amazed this thread got to this point without someone pointing this out, and ridiculing all those involved in a serious discussion over a possible Landry - Rhodes trade.

Re: Landry for Rhodes?
Great, so we can have more years of "we don't have a vocal QB leader" blah blah blah.
