All made great plays, and all changed the pace of the game and all did so in different areas (Off., Def., ST) I say I have to give out three gameballs!

Thrash was great, no doubt. I gave the ball to Griffen. They even started doubling him and he still got pressure. He disrupted their offense more than anything else today.

man, i really don't get ANY of you guys. not one PEEP of Clinton Portis. i don't know what it is, but this board does not give Portis NEAR enough props (Offiss). the guy is amazing, all heart, and so exciting to watch. what's this guy have to do to get your respect?? THROW TD passes?? well?
Thrash was great. don't get me wrong. but he had Tupa and the rest of the special teams step up. Portis SCORED, you know, the thing that wins games?? only our most elusive goal all year, in spite of ZERO passing game (unless HE does it himself) and uneven line play. we have the no.1 defense in the league, they're doing their job together. and we won a game with one of the worst offenses in the league, because he's the ONLY one consistently performing. i think you guys will only give him props if he throws a TD pass to HIMSELF. |

'just about' the only bright spot? try the ONLY bright spot. the defense has bright spots at every level. special teams is playing together. Portis is producing out there in SPITE of the rest of the offense's play.
my post number #18 was first mention of Portis since the first post. ridiculous. |

practically afterthoughts. Portis is completely taken for granted on this board.

I take offense to that (not really, I just dont know what other saying there are). I dont think there a single person here that takes Portis for granted. So people pointed out a few other players before Portis. Maybe its because Portis does what he is supposed to do. No one is taking him for granted, its just alot more suprising when a James Thrash has a big game, therefore people might give him a few extra pats on the back, whereas Portis lights it up every week.

I voted Portis, because he was the entire o.
But I'd say: Offensive gameball: Portis Defensive gameball: Griffen Special Teams gameball: Thrash Griffen was a monster, as he's been all year. The play of our two all-pro looking corners was excellent as well. And Marcus Washington. That guy can bring it! Thrash was incredible. He didn't just down it on the one twice, but he had a killer return, and a few tackles as well. But let's not forget that Block!!!! Jacobs, no less, though it looked like a couple of them might have got it. Now if only we had a QB....

i'm not talking about just in this thread. Portis is hardly ever mentioned. when someone isn't recognized for 'doing what he's supposed to' and others are, thats being taken for granted.

Portis gets mine for the offense, he's been huge lately and seems to be settling into this offense very nicely. He's on pace for 1600+ yards. If it wasn't for him we'd be 0-8. We have 3 wins and in each win he's ran for 100+ yards. There's no coincidence there.
On defense gotta give it to Griffin. It will be a crime if he doesn't go to Hawaii at seasons end. Special teams Thrash gets it with a close 2nd to Jacobs for getting his hand on the punt. We really needed the D or ST to step up and get a score for us, and today the ST play all around was excellent. |

The fourth personal fowl was on Gibbs for letting Burnell stay in the game.

Thrash and Tupa. Teams got this win and actually all of the ST guys deserve a game ball. First time since the 80's a blocked kick returned for a touchdown and it won the game.
