Re: Clinton Portis Interview-Part III
That doesn't excuse him in my book. Interviewers always ask questions to try and get juicy responses and it's up the player to be smart enough not to fall into the trap. Portis has no filter on that flapper of his. And frankly he is not good enough anymore on the field to make his antics even close to being a fair tradeoff. It's the offseason now so this will blow over without any harm being done but it's not like when the season starts he won't still be spouting off about whatever is on his mind.

Re: Clinton Portis Interview-Part III
Clinton is gonna talk no matter what, that's who he is. All I'm concerned about is him showing up to camp in top shape and ready to work. Shanahan won't let him become a distraction, I'm not even worried about it.

Re: Clinton Portis Interview-Part III
I hear you...I agree that Shanny will handle it. I am just sort of done with him personally. I think we can have a good running game regardless and I really don't care if he's on the team or not.

Re: Clinton Portis Interview-Part III
I was also under the impression that Sean's father asked Lavar to speak. I really don't know why anyone would bother to interview Portis anyway. SOS...different day.

Re: Clinton Portis Interview-Part III
I like Lavar & CP alot but if you ask me they both need to shutup especially Lavar all that talent and he never lived up to it, they might of use him out of place to but he never lived up to the hype.

Re: Clinton Portis Interview-Part III
I just want Clinton to bring back that Championship Belt to the sideline and play football. Its obvious that they don't get along. Lavar and Clinton need to man up somewhere private and deal with their issues. It seems petty when the public is involved.

Re: Clinton Portis Interview-Part III
I don't think Portis is going anywhere anytime soon so long as he works hard and produces on the field. I mean as much as I hate to admit it, character concerns are a little further down the list for Shanahan and Allen then most NFL exec's.
Just a couple of quick examples Shanahan signed Micheal Pitman and Travis Henry. He also put up with Brandon Marshall and his inability to stay away from trouble. Allen worked for the Raiders who are notorious for throwing character out of the equation completely. Also in Tampa Allen had both Jeremy Stevens and Michael Pitman (ironically). With that said Portis and his inability to speak anything remotely resembling proper English is driving me crazy. Talking about wanting to jump people, criticizing a person for saying nice things at a funeral where he was asked to speak. Obviously LaVar isn't a saint but come on. Is this crap really necessary? By the way when are we getting the Jon Jansen and Patrick Ramsey show? Quote:
In fact I think this Rex Grossman picture sums up Clinton's inability to keep his mouth shut. Though instead of interceptions Clinton likes to throw around insults
