Re: Thank Goodness We DON'T Have Tom Brady

Has Brady shown up for Pats minicamps and OTA's and then gone back to LA? Before we can make a solid comparison between AH and Brady, we need to know that.

Put differently, AH would bother people much less if he showed up for minicamp days and then disappeared again.

I agree it's acceptable, but let's also realize EVERY team has players who aren't at these camps, and yes this was a back-handed way to say get off AH's back.

With that vent out, I understand if the mods lock or merge this thread.
Coming off a major injury he threw 28 td's vs. 13 ints and over 4300 yards. It wasn't his best year but if Jason Campbell put up those numbers then he'd still be here.

You can't compare Brady's situation vs. AH's. One guy just showed up out of shape and didn't play up to his potential. Brady year in and year out is a top QB and plays the most important position on the field. Although Brady should be there he gets the bendfit over AH by a mile.

I don't see Albert Haynesworth bailing on his pregnant girlfriend for some Brazilian supermodel

In the past he was known for practically living at Pats headquarters in the offseason, so this year has been a change from the norm for him.

Great post!! Family comes first and if he's there for his son who's mother is not his wife but an old squeeze, that is even more commendable for Tom.

Re: Thank Goodness We DON'T Have Tom Brady

Look, a lot of us weren't crazy about signing AH to begin with. I was one of them. The guy has enormous talent but also has some baggage. He was promised alot of things to get him here I'm sure. He wants to go down as the best tackle in history, then, as usual, Blache misuses him which pisses him off. Now they're completely changing the scheme and want him to play a new position. Should he just accept it, come into camp and give it a shot? Sure. Did you really expect him to with no problem? It's ALBERT HAYNESWORTH. It's this kind of stuff that was the cause for some reservation about signing him. In all honesty I think he's been jerked around a little bit with what has been asked of him compared to what he was promised. Now he's jerking us back. I just hope he comes back in great shape and kicks ass.

Before he knew she was pregnant I think, not before she was actually pregnant. Otherwise, he'd be even more scum. Breakup with her, get together with Gisele, go back and Bridgitte pregnant, and marry Gisele.

But no I think they broke up and then found out she was pregnant with his child. He didn't pull a Tiki

Yeah they were broken up for a couple of months already when he found out she was prego. To his credit he sounds like a good Dad at least.

As I've said, personally I think this is a bigger issue, if both AH and changing to the 3-4 are issues at all. Still, AH not showing up for voluntary workouts/camps is not as bad as Shawn Springs completely disappearing a few offseasons ago. Not that I have anything against Springs, but just want to put things into perspective.

Re: Thank Goodness We DON'T Have Tom Brady

I am heavily entrenched in the "I want to get rid of AH" camp, but if he gets his act together, shows up next month and participates in all mandatory and voluntary activities going forward, all will be forgiven. however, i don't see that happening. which is why i want to get rid of him. if he doesn't have a major attitude change, then i don't think we'll be getting anywhere near his best during the season and i don't think he'd be worth a roster spot.

It still baffles me why people see him and all of this as such a big problem.

What part of his attitude do you not like? Please use specifics. Lots and lots of accusations have been thrown around with absolutely nothing to back them up. All I've ever heard from Haynesworth's own mouth is that he's not suited to play NT, but will play it if necessary, and that he's training in TN to get in the best shape of his life. Everything else has been hearsay, speculation, rumors, etc.

If he comes to camp obviously out of shape and screaming into cameras saying he's not playing NT no matter what the coaches say, then we've got problems. Until then, I'm hard pressed to jump in line with the rest of the mob.
